3:25 it looks like you're saying you mixed and matched with lines vs dots. Good to know that won't be destructive. In any case, it is important to use all three in the same manner (all dots or all dashes). The reason for the DOT is BTDC makes your pistons lower than TDC which keeps the valves from hitting the piston heads if something goes sideways. This however, does not prevent valves from hitting valves so keep your cams with 30-60 degrees of eachother.

It doesn’t matter if u use dot or line, it matters what u set the crank to, the crank should have two distinguished marks for cyl 1 at BDC and also at TDC the dots are used as crank at BDC mark and it will give u leeway if u are to adjust the timing back to line up, however if u use the TDC mark for the crank you will have to use the lines and be careful u don’t turn the cams too much as that will give the possibility of valve piston contact. But common sense if u feel any struggle trying to turn then double check so u don’t fuck it up

Actually you can use both but if using the dots use all dots ,if lines use all lines
