What a lovely image from a different time! Probably not the easiest car to drive if it had the 3 speed gearbox. Great cars that I still feel are undervalued. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. All the best, Duncan

Fantastically well done sir! Thank you for sharing the video, with your narrative and insight into the cars and drivers. Your mention on ERA r7b and your great uncle had me reaching for my copy of 'Raymond Mays magnificent obsession' by Bryan Apps, but I didn't find that particular car. Thanks for sharing, looking forward to any other videos you create. I know it's time consuming.

It’s reading comments like this that make it all worthwhile! I’m not familiar with the Raymond Mays book you reference but ERA R7B was first owned and raced by Arthur Dobson. The most notable result being 6th in the 1938 Donington GP behind The Auto Unions & Mercedes GP cars. My Great Uncle Dudley Gahagan owned it from the early ‘60s to 1998. Thanks again for the support, it’ll certainly encourage me to do more. All the best.

Had a Lenham front end end on my white round wheelarch '74. I wanted to retain the convertible so didn't have the rear end but i did put a 5 speed Toyota box in it which was an upgrade. The original Lemans and Targa race cars were mechanically very similar to the standard production Midgets and Sprites cars retaining all the major components. Lots of good information in a book called "More Healeys Frog-eyes, Sprites and Midgets' by Geoffery Healey.

Thanks for the walk around, my Docent! It must have been wonderful in person. That '57 Healey is a great bit of accomodation to mod cons in classic style. Without being a complete restomod. The Jowett is so magic. Giulia GTA! C2 Stingray. Jag C type. That's been in the news and it looks like Tata are being denied a win in their unfortunate law suit against that amazing builder, hoorah! @@thehistoricsportscarcollection Not absolutely. My surname is quite common in Italy. I was born in 1958 in Bologna where I live. The same city were was born Maserati Bothers Factory and Weber Carburator Factory. Nowdays of Maserati remains only the badge, because as you know it's a brand of Stellantis and factory is settled in Piedmont. Weber-Marelli instead gets his factories in Bologna and in the borough of Bologna. The name of my city cames form a large celtic tribe of "boi" settled in in this valley before the roman conquest of North Italy. Romans named celtic tribes "galli" (cocks), because they put the cock tails on their war helmets. Roman named this land "Gallia Citerior". Citerior is for neraest, cloeser to Rome.
