Goodwood Festival Of Speed 2023

Join us as we tour the paddocks and watch the action on the hill at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed. We look at iconic car after iconic car that many thought would never be seen in public such as Fangio's 1955 Mercedes Benz 300SLR, the 1939 Tripoli GP winning Mercedes W165, the Phil Hill 1958 Le Mans winning Ferrari, Woolf Barnato's 1929 & 1930 Le Mans winning Bentley as well as the Ferrari that won this year's Le Mans. Porsche was the celebrated marque and we get up close to the first car that Porsche entered at Le Mans and started their motorsport success story. McLarens were out in force as they celebrated their 60th birthday and we are deafened by the 1926 land speed record holder 'Babs'. There is literally something for everyone at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Hi Duncan, thank you for another wonderful video. The future is not electric, not in my lifetime anyway. The emotion generated by Babs, The Beast of Turin and their ilk is enough motivation to find a clean fuel alternative.

Thank you for your comment @dickieb2233 . I think the enthusiasm for EVs seems to be dissipating. There was a Bentley 3 litre there running on synthetic fuel and it had no major changes to accommodate the fuel. How much it costs per litre I don’t know!

@@thehistoricsportscarcollection Quite, Harry Metcalf runs some if his cars on a synthetic fuel and many of the Le Mans Classic entrants were do so. Pricing should be more palatable shortly.

I think you’ve seen the trailer for Millionaire Hoarders? Yes she’s part of the presenting team (first time!) so will hopefully be in each episode. The first one goes out on the 4th August. No cars unfortunately!
