Interesting technique I havent seen before with the tail, question though.. How do you figure out which key the final kick goes in? Or is it even that important with gated kicks?

it’s only important for the punch, for the tail you don’t have an accurate key that actually plays so you’re totally chill with that

btw your kicks are fantastic, I have heard much bigger composers than you using them, you did an absolutely fantastic job, I was wondering, did you just layer and postprocess various samples or have you generated some of the layers/frequencies by yourself when you were making those kicks? Also I wonder if I should learn kick synthesis, I am really good at postprocess like dynamic eq/imager etc, but I always just layer while making drums
