Velkommen Farah! I look forward to seeing more people of color in this community ❤ while I'm not a booktuber (yet!) I know that a lot of the people who read a *lot* of books in a month/year are huge audiobook proponents. I also used to think I wasn't a huge audiobook fan (there's just something about the experience of sitting down with the smell/feel of a physical book that an audiobook cannot match, ya know?) but have been reading some more books via audio while commuting to/from class and I've been making *huge* progress where I'd otherwise be too occupied. Chores are another great time to do this, but I have a soft spot for putting on 4-hour-long video essays from favored creators rather than books, so that's a harder sell for me, personally. Nice to meet another student in their later 20's, it feels so strange to have peers who are 5+ years younger than you! I'm 26 and pursuing a Psychology degree, myself. Lovely to meet you ❤ Your english is very good, btw! Multilingual folks are so incredible!

Hi. Welcome to BookTube, Farah. That was a delightful introduction. As I watched the scan of your bookshelves, your Kanji book caught my eye, because a few years ago I was learning how to write Japanese kanji using the Heisig method of making little stories to connect the kanji’s components to the meaning of the whole kanji. Example: the kanji for “performing artist” consists of _Audrey Hepburn_ (person radical) plus _branches._ My story references “Funny Face” (1957). Did you ever try Heisig?

I recently was able to start reading again for which I am so grateful. Bless you for sharing your story on your new KZbin channel. Enjoy!

We’re more than pairs of skulls and crossing bones. The collared angel tries to flap her wings; the bored cashier is scrolling on her phone, pretending not to hear chains rattling. No painting’s muse was ever late for work. But now the models pace a crosswalk Hell when all we ever did was come to Earth to try and find a place to be ourselves. We art the people famous painters drew. What invoked the barista’s doodled heart? Perhaps she could’ve been a model too, or is no matter what the wealthy want. Forgo their taxes! Live and break your chains, and like the angel freed, we’ll skip away. this is a sonnet that i wrote
