Hello, enjoyed the video. I'm struggling with an audio upgrade on a < 25k miles 1988 911 (never left the family) in pristine condition. Blaupunkt Reno SQR original factory system with no amp. Need to pass in a fresh power supply to power a Kenwood BT amplifier - have no idea where the best cabin hole is (or any for that matter) to pass in a new power cable from the battery. Any advice would be awesome.

Sounds like a fun project…I don’t have experience with power from the frunk to the head unit, I used the existing wiring loom, and the sub is a direct plug and play into my Blaupunkt head unit. Sorry for the late reply…best of luck with your upgrade….

@franciskkh it’s not a mandatory thing, you’re possibly able to get the vehicle out without one, but you can run into problems here, I decided to invest upfront, and had zero issues here, were straight through customs.

Those Focal speakers really need a dedicated amp. They will be getting sweet FA power from a headunit.

Nice job. I probably should do a sub in mine as most of the bass I hear is the flat 6 type and lots of road noise which I'm planning to tackle later when redoing the carpet. "pack it up, pack it in" Nice.

How easy would it be to accidentally knock it forwards off the stand? It looked a bit wobbly. Thanks.
@theGaraged
@theGaraged 3 жыл бұрын
Its possible if facing down an incline with the bike in neutral, but the wheels on the stand sit forward of the shank that slides into the centre of the rear wheel hub, and are off the ground when raised…so it takes some force to distribute the weight onto the wheels, and flip it off the stand again…it rolls a few inches on the wheels from engagement point to resting on stand…hope that makes sense..

Simply put. Age. The track bike style of riding does not work for my body anymore. I already have a 675 I can take to the track. The speed triple is better for long rides to the coast and mountains

Hello..thanks for the video. I have the exact same bike and it’s brilliant isn’t it?!? I bought the Evotech tail tidy which was much easier with no hassle. I also noticed you changed your tyres too..I did the same as I was worried about the Supercorsas in the wet! I hope your enjoying your bike? I’ve had mine over 2 years and I’m not even tempted to swap it in for anything else!
@theGaraged

Dave Kitcher the bike ticked all the boxes, but alas a guy decided he didn’t need to give way and turned right into me, has been a tough year, but almost ready to get back on...my next mod was going to be a RC Racing pipe, miss it every day....if I do go around again it will be Evotech all the way! The Rossos were still pretty fresh, but they definitely slowed down the tip in... wasn’t sure if that was good or bad.... do you find that?

theGaraged I’m so sorry to hear that mate, that’s heart breaking! I hope you get back in the saddle soon, i think it’s the only thing we can do after something like that if the love for riding is still there? But yeah I agree, the RS ticks all the boxes for sure, it’s a fantastic bike and I actually traded in my brand new Superduke R for mine! Re the supercorsas, I personally love them and how they handle but I live in the south of England where the weather isn’t great at times and I do at least one long tour every year, so they had to go, sadly. All the best mate and I really do hope you get back on a bike soon...keep safe!
@theGaraged

Dave Kitcher funny you mention that, I’m actually considering a super duke R, tell me your thoughts Dave why did you get off the Duke? The streetfighter v4s though 👀....
@davvyross3661
@davvyross3661 4 жыл бұрын
theGaraged yep, the street fighter v4 is beautiful but a bit out of my price range! I bought a 2017 SDR and with hindsight, I think I’ve figured out why I didn’t get on with it...it’s very very fierce in how it delivers its power, which is obviously fun..but for me I think in all seriousness that living with that power makes it feel excessive and unusable most of the time...when I rode the RS, I loved how rideable and easy it was to ride smooth and fast by comparison? I’m an experienced and competent rider with 20 years under my belt but the KTM sacred me a bit and I found it to be too much! Having said that, I wonder if I would have got on with it better if it had better suspension and tyres, since the main thing that made me feel unsafe was the vagueness of the front end which I felt took away that connection to the road which most of us need to give us the confidence to ride quick and smooth? It’s an incredible engine, but just not for me unfortunately! It’s all a matter of personal opinion at the end of the day though isn’t it? Interestingly, it looks as if they’ve sorted those issues with the new 2020 model, so might be worth checking it out!?
