I came across this video as I was preparing a lecture for my students on sensory processing and sensory play and who do I see? One of my grad school teaching assistants (not sure of the title). Jennifer was working on her doctorate, I believe when I was getting my Master's from Erikson. Good to see her in this video!

Hi! Iam Mahsuri from Malaysia. I am doing my research on Nature Education towards young children in Malaysia. I learned a lot from this video. Thanks for sharing. I would love to gather your points for my writing. I learned new words such as Cortisol and Myopia Thank you😍

It's awesome! However, how do you maintain the atmosphere if one child is sick or becomes really naughty that others are not disturbed?

July 29 2024-Watching this as part of a Child Development Class. Excellent. I wish I had encountered this material sooner. It makes a lot of sense. As I am sure a lot of other people have observed -- there are many adults with self-regulation problems. Indeed our unequal society itself promotes a lack of self-regulation, i.e. those in power are allowed to express anger but those below are discouraged highly - in other words do not have an equal the right to feel anger or being upset.

This video was long but not boring and well done! It does a great job of explaining the research behind play-based learning, as well as the methodologies. Great job doing this in laymen's terms so that I can refer my parents (and administrators) to this information!

the earlier kids start to reason, the earlier they ll become an adult.....why hurry, when spontaneity, tranquility, enthusiasm, and imagination of the impossible is lost in the way?????

Product Art is about discipline and process art is about freedom with expression through the materials.

I really wish we could implement this in my school district. It would take a lot of education district wide, school wide, financial funding partners, parents, etc.

I am a nature teacher. I am so inspired by your video. I habe watched it several times and enjoy getting lost in thought about new opportunities where I work. Wouod it be possible to share some information on the resources you mentioned? For example, where can you find those blocks?

Education from birth through high school has always been a Collaborative Partnership with parents! And, it’s usual includes the Community, as well! So, if your parent audience thinks they’re not a significant part of this partnership, I’m glad you’re bringing it up & to everyone’s attention. Everyone benefits from our children being well educated, therefore should take an interest & participate in it, as much as possible!! Nice video!!
