Dit is het eerste wat ik zie van Eelco. Man, wat een gitarist! Zo subtiel en gevoelig, alsof er lappen poëzie uit zijn gitaar komen, die mij uitleggen wat blues is.

Huge fan of the inspiring adrenaline explosions Akkerman is capable of on albums like Profile and pretty much everything else he does. Had not really heard much of the guy from Golden Earring. Gorgeous introspective tone exploration of blues guitar from both players here.

I remember Mike when he was with Wayne Toups / Zydecajun . Saw him a dozen or so times.

He still is. Saw him Saturday (6/1/24) with Wayne in Hockley Texas. Talked to him for almost 30 minutes after their show.

@ledhed5717 He is a powerhouse on the drums . I saw Wayne/ Zydecajun about 35 times. Always a great night of music.

The most revolutionary living slide guitarist on the planet, yet fewer than 300 views, no likes, and no comments. How the hell is this possible?

@@SusanHeaton ohh Yeah👌🏽🎸🎶😀 Quote:(..)"■"Sonny has reinvented a new way to play guitar. And he doesn't just play slide. He's doing stuff behind the slide and ahead of the slide. It's like algebra to me. I couldn't figure it out in a million years, but it completely kills me to hear him play. His intonation is frighteningly good." ~ Vince Gill

That was a fantastic set at Crossroads! I saw Sonny a few months ago in Sacramento… an intimate venue and it was an experience. Went out and bought a slide the next day so I can start leaning slide. He is a nice guy… explained his tunings after the Sacramento show, and how he keeps his guitars for each tuning set up.
