My dad worked on the Nimrod, he always said they expected too much from the airframe and continuously required it lengthened and widened with more stuff packed inside until it stressed the airframe to the maximum. Then came the Afghanistan accident which doomed the Nimrod to retirement but not until after the government had financed an upgrade which was later scrapped.

It emerged where it was least expected, was over my head about 1000 yards in the desert of Kingman AZ. I watched what I thought was a shooting star come into the atmosphere at terminal velocity then to instant standstill . When I then watched the heat or light it was producing dissipate where the cold shape became clear and revealing it's mantaray like shape. Giving me the feeling that it wanted me to witness it. Weird right!

The movie Memphis Belle addresses the short range of fighter escort at that point in the war. Even if the Allied bombers returned intact the pressure of German attack planes would make the bombers less effective. p.s. The Hellcat had a 19:1 kill ratio. The P51 Mustang was a still awesome 10:1.

isn't the problem with it that it handles like a frisbee and then wobbles and flips over and spirals out of control and crashes.. they proved this in many experiments, showing that not having a fusel lodge gives the air no way to differentiate it's coefficients and the laminar flow stalls the plane.

Glide vehicles are the future. 30 years ago scientists showed you could reduce fuel consumption by almost 70% by employing glide wings in your design. Basically get to height and then put plane into a slight downward glide until you reach destination.

It’s as if this country didn’t learn anything from prohibition. Drugs should be decriminalized if you want to save lives and bankrupt the cartels. Disband the DEA and have law enforcement go after actual violent criminals, instead of spending billions on putting people in cages, for a victimless “crime” of putting a chemical into their body that the government arbitrarily decides isn’t good for them. The federal government shouldn’t even be involved, per the 10th amendment. Just because something isn’t good for you, doesn’t mean it should be illegal. It’s intellectually dishonest and the American people should stand up and say enough is enough. No man should have the authority over another man to tell him which drugs are ok, by use of violence, theft and kidnapping. As long as someone isn’t violating another’s Constitutional rights. Freedom can be dangerous, but it must be preserved. Free men should have the right to harm themselves if they so choose. Besides, what’s actually worse for you? Using drugs or having everything taken from you and put in a cage for years. It’s asinine that we’ve allowed this in America. Our founders would be furious.

After living here for several months, I can confidently say The Sustainable City is not a failure-it’s actually an incredible experiment in sustainable urban living. That said, like any pioneering project, there are some challenges, and not everything is perfect yet. One of the more noticeable issues is the solar-heated water system, which is likely being implemented on this scale for the first time. While it’s great for sustainability, it comes with its own challenges. Since the system relies entirely on solar energy, it takes time for hot water to reach the shower. This means you often have to leave the tap running for a couple of minutes before the water heats up-ironically causing some wastage. It’s a small but significant aspect they’ll need to optimize. That being said, there’s so much to appreciate here: ✔️ Self-Sustaining Farms - Fresh, locally grown produce right inside the community. ✔️ Beautiful Green Spaces - Parks and common areas designed with a mix of ancient cooling techniques and modern sustainability. ✔️ Solar Power & Energy Efficiency - Almost all the energy here is generated through solar panels, making it one of the most sustainable urban developments. ✔️ AI University - Now fully operational, adding an innovative education hub to the city. Right now, the city is probably only 25% complete, but the progress is impressive. They’re blending ancient architectural techniques with modern technology to reduce energy consumption and keep buildings cool without excessive AC. As someone actually living here, I can see both the huge potential and the work-in-progress aspects. It’s not perfect yet, but it’s an ambitious step toward

The Failure of HS2 was a deliberate act, all by design - and all those involved are guilty of treason and sedition against the British people, including rail trade union leaders - the only solution is for a rail operator from the Far East, such as China, Japan or Taiwan to take complete and direct control of the U.K. railways, with all existing rail bodies abolished and any trade union involvement totally banned - an ultra hardline and zero tolerance approach must be taken and adopted to ensure the success of the U.K. railways in many key areas
