I just came back from Shanghi... For experience, I tried this train from Shanghai CBD to Pudong International Airport, a distance of some 30 kilometres. It took us 7/8 minutes to reach the airport with a maximum speed of 300km/hr. When I querried about the speed, I was told that the short distance and the track runs through the city centre, it was cap at the speed . Nonetheless, I was told that they are planning a connection to Beijing and travel time can be btw 4-5 hours! What would happening to inter-city avaition then?

The Soviets were the first to land man made objects on the Moon, Venus and Mars. The future of exploration of any civilization in this vast universe is going to be with robots. There is no need to put a human on every spaceship and thus on every planet. The life support systems and food/water storage will be huge, adding up to cost, mass and power consumption. The mutual respect toward each other on both sides made it possible to start working together. Together, we can always achieve more. While the US was ready to spend millions to make an ink pen working in a zero gravity environment, the Russians simply turned to pencils. Sometimes, the cheapest and simplest solution is the better option. We shall stop all wars and invest all those funds in science!

Why does every one of these Aurora conspiracies conveniently forget to mention the project was explained to be a Congressional budget line item of the B2 bomber? You can't disregard one inconvenient fact just because you want to believe a fun conspiracy. If you don't believe that, fine, but you can't just disregard it, and if you didn't know it, you did poor research. "Former Skunk Works director Ben Rich confirmed that "Aurora" was simply a myth in Skunk Works (1994), a book detailing his days as the director. Rich wrote that a colonel working in the Pentagon arbitrarily assigned the name "Aurora" to the funding for the B-2 bomber design competition and somehow the name was leaked to the media.[3]"

That "Road to Nowhere" reduced the journey from north to south by an hour, saved many lives that would have been lost by traveling on the old road through the canyon of the Morača river, the author is obviously uninformed, maybe he is bothered by the fact that the Chinese built the road, and not some west europe company .... gentlemen, if we had waited for you, we would still be in the 19th century👋👋👋

There’s a reason US carriers requested indemnity from breaking Constitutional law and received it in perpetuity in the flurry of lawmaking after 9/11.

This is not the most insane thing about this road. It should end in Boljare, and it should conect with highway in Serbia which also leads nowhere. Okey that highway in Serbia should conect Boljare with Požega, but not through the route that everyone expected (Uzice, Zlatibor, Nova Varos, Prijepolje etc). No. Highway from Pozega to Boljare is crossing the least populated part of Serbia (Pešter), so poor that people living there barely have enough money to buy any kind of car, but not really any enough money to travel anywhere... Sure those people deserve to have a decent roads (which now they don't have), but they for sure do not need a crazy expensive highway that not a lot of people will actually use. That is the crazy idea of Serbian government to help develope that part of the country. They will make a massively exepensive road which locals will barely use, but moreover, road that is basically not going to be used so much by other travelers, so those people cannot really relay on commuting travelers as source of income. And all the plans now indicate that no highway will actually lead to most popular touristic destination in Serbia, Zlatibor (for both people who stay there and people who decide to take a brake there while traveling to Montenegro) which is crazy. Fact is for both Montenegro and Pešter highway that those super expensive roads will be built with soul purpose for those in power to get their cut on those costs and secure future for their grand grand grand grand grand children.

the f22 is a lesson on why you dont lie to the US about how advanced your planes are, because the US will build something to counter what you claim to have only to find out nothing can even get close to competing with it.

Did it strike you as odd that one of Mark Klein's photos is of ancient hard disk recorders that probably haven't been used in decades? It's almost as if that room is meant for the purpose of showing people that nothing suspicious is going on, but that room hasn't been updated since the 1970s. Hardly "mundane electronic equipment." They're collectable antiques.

"It's not the plane, it's the pilot" ~ Capt. Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, Top Gun: Maverick. I have yet to see an A-10 pilot crash his aircraft immediately after take off, and Capt. Kim Campbell took a SAM to the tail and flew her A-10 home totally on manual controls.

I’ve been in there and toured several floors as the company I work for has a bunch of media transport equipment installed in the networks. It’s not spooky or top secret. They just don’t want random people wandering around a communication hub. There are very few people in there but there are a bunch of historic tech items developed by Bell Labs on display for almost no one to see.

The first problem that needs solving is the heating up of the core of Mars and keeping it hot perpetually-so as to form a natural shield for the planet and then start the terraformation process. The idea for humans to have to live(hide) in underground shelters may not be exciting

I've worked in a lot of modern datacenters, with the technology today a "listening post" would look pretty much exactly like all the other equipment. You could have a cage with a few racks of gear sucking data for the NSA under some no-name shell company logo and you'd never notice or even blink an eye.
