Soldering is cool! I didn’t learn how until after high school. Also, it’s _”the gift that keeps on giving”_ 😀 If you use *_rosin core_* solder and some of the rosin fumes get into your nose hairs, you’ll continue to smell that aromatic pine scent for a couple of days. *73 de AF6AS*

actually CEPT countries should not require a license unless you want to stay for an extended period of time. 🎉
France requires an FCC Extra class license to operate 2m. Seems excessive.

It may be because they don't have as many classes of operators. I know Poland is like that. 😂

Blue Sea systems makes a circuit wizard app that you can put in your voltage and you’re needed amperage and it’ll tell you exactly what size cable to use for a less than 3% voltage drop. I use it when I’m building my batteries.

Best practices are designed by self appounted " cool kids" you cant expect others to blindly follow ambigious rules. Use the nato alphabet because sometimes a dialect or tone of voice does not come over clear enough to understand. What you hear and what is recieved is completely different.

@user-oj1gi4ok1lАй бұрын
The SCU-20 doesn’t get used to update firmware, there’s a usb mini to USB A port at the front of the radio behind the face for firmware updates. And with the SCU-20 you can indeed send digital voice audio over wires X. This cable will allow you to get onto Wires X using an FTM-100, 200, 300. 400 all you need is to set up a wires x account, and a pc connected to broadband, you can only use the digital only rooms if you have the SCU-20 but you can upgrade to an SCU-40 which gives you an analog tail connected to the SCU-20 and then you can use any room in the wires x software with no HRI node needed. You run your Base radio (FTM-100-400) as a node using the SDU-20 connected from the DIN pin socket in the back of the radio plugged into the USB of your PC, you switch your radio on in PDN (personal digital node) mode run the wires x software and you’re in. You can even turn your node radio that’s connected to the PC as an access point for your FT-70 or FT-2D so you don’t have to be stuck to the PC, there’s a few ways of setting this up if you want to get on wires x but don’t want to spend $300 on an HRI200 wires x box. If you want to know more just search FTM-300 PDN mode.
