charger and voltage regulator aka your AC adapter is the biggest issue alongside the manufacturing and materials. saving a few $$$ on a charger will end in shorter life and much more. like the S7 it had two issues. early adaptation of fast charging and less than perfect battery. the phones were fine, just needed to replace the battery and not a forced recall. Apple, MoTo and IBM all had the same issues but never made the front page. good video

A DLG! A well designed, built and set up Discus Launch Glider is one of the most if not 'the' most efficient aircraft currently available; from the standpoint of aerodynamic efficiency. Also, a motor, prop and large flight pack are not required. They also have a far better L/D (glide ratio) because the wing can utilize a cambered airfoil with the tail surfaces. Tail surfaces also allow the option to change the shape of the wing (camber and/or reflex) for different flight speeds and maneuvers broadening the flight speed envelope a great deal. I also find flaps/flaperons indispensable as they are part of the wing airfoil shape changing surfaces and brakes are awesome because I can point the nose straight down with flaps deployed for a spot landing right in to my hand. :) As far as powered craft, early experimentation by Al Bowers has shown a Prandtl type of flying wing hold great promise for flying efficiency. The $250,000 cost of the Guardian is because it's intended to carry humans, therefore it must be made using aerospace-grade parts. You can buy hobby-grade parts and motors and assemble a drone with enough lifting capacity to carry a human for much less than that. But you would be insane to actually ride it. Because hobby-grade parts fail, _a lot._ Aerospace grade parts have to be reliable enough that you can have more than a million of them in the field, and the failure rate is in single digits. This drives the cost way up, and you end up with a quarter million dollar drone.

The least drag in the air is going to be a tear drop shape, making that into a plane is going to look odd and it will not be very maneuverable. If you are going with the logic of less is better only, do look at the Horten, and take note how it is rather a squished tear drop itself.
