Hi I took of the cover exposed the fan the wiring connections where not really shown in video can you advice on what goes where
@PhilipWillsWorldКүн бұрын
Thanks for watching. The wires will naturally sit roughly where they need to go. Can you see the wiring any better at 1:25 ? or maybe my other videos show it better? Try kzbin.info/www/bejne/faTFgKhoobmFr7s

This is the best set of destructions I have watched on a YT video :). I have a question. The boiler is a wall hung Potterton Profile with 2xpipes on the top and the essentials (pump/2xzone valves/bi pass etc) are all in the upstairs airing cupboard. The only suitable vertical pipe is the flow which doubles back through 180 degrees to the pump/zone valves and then disappears under the floorboards on the roundtrip to the radiators. Other than adding a vertical extension 'loop' to the horizontal return, I cannot see a way of fitting the filter to the return pipe. That means using the flow which is not good for a number of reasons. Any ideas? Thanks.
@PhilipWillsWorld4 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and for your kind comment; I appreciate it. Yes, ideally the filter should be located on the return pipe, near the boiler, but if you can't fit it there and don't want to install some new pipes, then I think it is better to have the filter anywhere in the system, rather than to not have one at all. I hope this helps.
@MartinJG1004 күн бұрын
@@PhilipWillsWorld That was a quick reply. Tend to agree. I guess it will create a bit of drag on the flow, will not pick bits on the return to the boiler and will also get the hottest water which could limit the life of the filter. As you say, better with than without. Thanks for your thoughts.

I followed this video to replace mine, I also didn't have to release the clip to release the timer but the replacement switch(supposedly re-furbed from ebay) didn't "tick" like the old one did and it stayed on the time I set it to, whereas the old one did at least tick and keep time as it did when I put it back in the boiler,can I assume that the replacement switch is faulty?
@PhilipWillsWorld4 күн бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching. Sorry to hear that. Yes, assuming that you turned the power back on, it sounds like it's broken. Play safe and buy a new one.

Very useful video, thank you ! Got the same boiler, with pressure issue. In a reply you are talking about the filling loop valves. But where are they ?
@PhilipWillsWorld2 ай бұрын
@@Fred_five thanks for watching. Follow the cold water inlet pipe and it goes into 2 small brass cubes in line, each with a nut head and a screwdriver slot in the end. That is the filling loop. Sometimes it may have been installed with an external filling loop, probably with a braided hose. Hope this helps.
@Fred_five2 ай бұрын
Great, with your help I found the filling loop. It's a pipe with a valve between the cold water inlet and the central heating circuit. Many thanks Philip !

Thanks for this explainer. I’ve followed along and the fan no longer makes a loud noise and spins freely. I have a question about the airflow. Should the fan be pulling air towards it from the inside or pushing air away (ie back towards what is in the oven). I’ve just held a think bit of tissue next to fan on the inside and it’s pulling the tissue towards the cover.

My boiler keeps dropping to 0.2 bar... When it's on it goes in to the red on the dial... If i drain boiler and re do the pressure could this fix it... Have to top pressure up once or twice a day currently? Thanks Ben
@PhilipWillsWorld9 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. This could be caused by several different things. First check that you don't have a leak anywhere. A common problem is that the Schrader valve on the expansion vessel has failed. This is quite an easy fix. You can buy replacement valves and a little tool for changing it. Hope this helps.

@PhilipWillsWorld9 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching. It is a fan oven. This is what a fan oven does. It is supposed to keep the temperature more even for the whole oven space. If you don't want the fan to spin, then you can disconnect the power from the fan and cover the end of the wire so that it does not short circuit by touching any exposed metal. Hope this helps.

I live in Tywyn (which is 4-5stop south on the train) and last year I bought a second hand Garrett AT pro so i them went detecting on the beach ( it was February) and I found very little , but it was the same for another detectorist . I have found out possible why it is so difficult , apparently (how true it is) Tywyn beach has a big electrical cable running the length of it and it plays havoc with detectors of i am looking for an appropriate beach to detect any ideas?
@PhilipWillsWorld10 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. It's a difficult one. The busy beaches in summer will be detected regularly to collect tourist treasures. Out of season, look out for when storms strip out the sand and expose older treasure.
