Tiffany, We currently live in West Central Florida and have been considering a move to N/E Tennessee. After the last two hurricanes, Helene & Milton our interest in relocating has increased. We are curious as to the actual damage and/or effect hurricane Milton had on the area, specifically Johnson City, Elizabethton and Jonesborough. Thanks in advance.
@tiffanywattsrealestateagent2 ай бұрын
Hey! No effects that I'm aware of from Milton but Helene did a lot of damage. Not necessarily from the wind but from the amount of rain we received. Flooding from NC flowed into TN and lots of homes/properties along the rivers (like the Nolichucky) were destroyed. It mainly only effected the homes that are very close to the river.... Which are a lot of homes. But a small % overall.

Thanks for the market update. I've heard estimates of the home prices in Johnson City, but the numbers have been all over the place. I suppose that's the downside of listening to KZbinrs, with information that is out of date. It is also due to differences in average vs. median figures and to the areas and property types included. Anyhow, thank you for the updated figures. Sounds like it's still an affordable area, but if I want to move there, better now than later, because prices are just going up up up, and there's no reason I can see why that would stop. Cheers.

Do homes in a subdivision mean I pay dues on top of property taxes? Are there two types of taxes you pay for city and county?
@tiffanywattsrealestateagent3 ай бұрын
@@kenkoh1724 No, just because a home is in a subdivision or neighborhood doesn't mean there will be HOA dues. Having said that, there are neighborhoods throughout the Tri-Cities that do have HOA's. Yes, homes located within city limits will pay both city and county taxes. Homes outside the city limit will only pay county taxes. Hope this helps!

Hi Tiffany my wife and I are looking to move in year 2025 in JC, I found that locals of JC are not welcoming to new people moving from Out of State as according to them we are making life hard for them after buying all the homes. Is this all correct? The hatred of locals against new people? I get that people is upset, but there are some opportunities for my family and our love of mountains and nature that we want to live in this area. Any idea of areas where people would be more accepting?
