What’s up Viking! How large are your tanks? You never say in the videos. Love the videos also and how large do you think that datnoid is gonna get? What’s the largest datnoid you’ve ever seen in captivity? Everyone says they take a long time to grow, but how long is a long time? Skull!

@tabarakaquatics8067 cheers Ras, I would definitely recommend mate. Such a lovely fish. Not as terratorial as a pike cichlid but does get in there for the food quick. Hangs high in the water and behaves abit like a gar but can move alot faster when it wants. I love him. Have a convinced you mate?🤣

What do you feed your American 🇺🇸 flag tail ? It’s beautiful I want mine to fatten up too ❤
@28kartavya26 күн бұрын
Also what temperature do you keep for the plants 🌱? Trying to grow Anubias java fern
@Viking_Aquatics_UK25 күн бұрын
@28kartavya thankyou, I feed them a mix really. They love hikari floating pellets, algea wafers, catfish balls, even flake. But I've noticed they love rasping on muscles too. As mine grew they ate more muscles and shrimp but still love pellets and flake. They love eating the biofilm of the surface off the water too and cleaning the wood. Mine are always grazing. I keep my tanks around 26 degrees and my plants are doing OK but there is probably a more optimum temp. I've done well at 24 too. Thankyou for watching.
@stoneysscapes754424 күн бұрын
If you have any Repashy Morning Wood you should try adding it to a few pieces of driftwood and your grazers will be in Heaven and watch the other fish wondering what is going on. Trust me it's worth the effort and I got the idea from Michael Jensen's KZbin channel !!! Cheers Mate Happy Holidays 🌲⛄🤶🏻🧯

@stoneysscapes7544 yes mine love repashy too. I only found out as I'd put some in for my plecos. The flagtails absolutely nail it.

If the fish spook you may want to add a night light for the fish, it helps them see while they sleep so they don't spook. I think it happens when the fall asleep and they happen to rub up against something or another fish and they think they're being attacked.
@Viking_Aquatics_UKАй бұрын
This is really good advice mate. I've never read it anywhere but it's something I've learned over time. Especially my Arowanas do always have to have a night light. My wife jokes about the predatory fish being scared of the dark lol. On this occasion though it was a bang in the next room from moving furniture. Cheers for watching mate.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/lanUcqV5f7V1kJYsi=Sd232TzUr2lba31V Truth about ND AQUATICS
@RikJameson3 ай бұрын
I ordered 2 x 5cm Kelberi Peacock Bass from Sims Tropical in UK and added a 3rd Kelberi to my order, which wasn't sent by mistake. They sent me 2 more (4 total), so I got a free one. It means I have one more mouth to feed than I planned, but they are all eating frozen bloodworm & live brineshrimp & live Mysis to date. The first 2 been in 5x2x2 since Tuesday this week and 2nd two since Thursday. I added x4 Silver Dollars to give the Kelberi some company and confidence to swim and competition for eating food. Trying to avoid feeders, but it may be inevitable. But I did setup my first Minnow tank, so if they breed = free food. You're fish are looking very happy.
@Viking_Aquatics_UK3 ай бұрын
That's lucky mate, four together will look gorgeous! I was worried I would have to live feed my kelberi's when they was small but having fish like the silver dollars helped so much as when they was nailing the bloodworm, the bass started to worry they was missing out so the silver dollars and other fish where a god send as they encouraged a feeding frenzy! Which meant it wasn't long before the bass was taking dry foods too, so I hope it's similar for you mate! You have very nice taste in fish and thankyou for watching as always!
