⚠DEMO CLASS UPDATE FOR PEOPLE WHO WOULD LIKE TO APPLY TO AMAZING TALKER ⚠: About the "demo class". I've just taken it a few minutes ago. I applied as a French teacher, certified in teaching French as a foreign language. When I sent a message to the mentor/interviewer to ask what would be the topic of the demo class, which is a thing Amazing Talker advised you to do, she simply replied she would have only one question for me. The question was :"Do you have teaching experience ?". I answered "I do". She then said "You passed. Congratulations. Good bye." And that was it.😅

I have IELTS classes exceeding 15 up to 25. Do you have any suggestions on how to manage IELTS with large numbers. I have been teaching Speaking skills now for some 11 years here in Vietnam, crossing the line into reading and writing as skills associated in Speaking. Do you advise taking on the reading and listening partitions as separate class sessions. The majority of Speaking time tables are for 1.5 hours, twice a month at my current Language school. Just starting my journey and your video left me with a clear framework of the IELTs testing formats, challenges that teachers and students can face, specific English focus points, as well as realistic teaching timelines. Looking forward to watching more of your videos. Thankyou!

I am a good online teacher with IELTS teaching experience and I am interested in teaching group lessons via Zoom (maybe 10 students per class). I know how to set up group lessons, etc. I really feel like the only thing I DON'T know is how to FIND students ...

Please let me know if this rough lesson plan is spot on or not. Timings only given where mentioned. I'd guess around a 60 minute lesson. PART ONE 1. Board a few questions (with answers) relating to home and work/study. (5 mins) 2. Group speaking activity where students find a partner to ask at least one question off the whiteboard (WB) 'list' (5 mins) 3. Common error correction from activity 4. Pair work for students to answer a list of questions (10 mins) 5. Common error correction PART TWO 1. Teach either story/question method notetaking on WB 2. Pair work for students ask each other. Each listens for common errors/grammar structures 3. Second pair work using a different prompt. Each then paraphrases their partner's answer. 4. Third pair work using a different prompt. Each asks a short follow-up question based on 2 min answer just given. 5. Common error correction by teacher at suitable points or at end. PART THREE 1. Elicit a response to a first question on the WB. Together alter structure to 'fix' the answer to adjust to a format. Repeat a few times. 2. Group speaking activity where students find a partner to each ask at least one question off the WB 'list' (5 mins) 3. Common error correction from activity 4. Pair work for students to answer a list of questions (10 mins) 5. Common error correction

Thanks so much for this. I'm looking for resources for my lessons. Do you know any websites which provide a package of lessons, such as a series of ten presentations for IELTS, each presentation building on the last? (I'm not only looking for IETLS, that's just an example).

Wow what a coincidence. I’m English based in Keelung because of marriage. I applied out of curiosity at 1600 hrs yesterday afternoon. By 1800 hrs accepted ( higher degrees and experience) . Then out of the blue 15 minutes later get a message from some kind of team mentor leader ( wondered what that was but guessed asking me to work full time 40 hours with his team ) . All the while not knowing much about the pay etc. Then 10 minutes after that got another email : Interview set for Sunday demo at 1900 hrs ( following day). WTF ? No notice, I’d kept the week free on the calendar and I also have appointments today. So cancellation sent. Then get another follow up : “ You have decided the appointment your Teacher rating is effected and you get 3 strikes with another set up demo interview for the next day . Well, I then decided to let rip , saying I will not take kindly to threats and also told the mentor guy never ever contact me again . Blocked . I guessed they are a boiler room sales operation and ordered them to remove my application and profile with immediate effect. Basically fired them within 3 hours . It’ll be hell . There are far better places . I’m in control. They’ll try to control you ; despite you thinking it’ll be a fairly smooth ride. You’ll be pressurized to do more . Just look through the terms and conditions. That’s enough to give you a clue. Good luck anyway .
