Flare nut on the pipe first ok easy..... Fuck
@buddy115510 сағат бұрын
A once made a brake line for a client (non-professional), I accidently put the flare nuts the wrong way around. He spent 3 days trying to install it. I felt so ashamed when he came back into the shop.
@piercekimmerly12 сағат бұрын
Tube is measured in an i.d.. measurement and pipe in measured in an o.d. measurment. That tube in the video is a copper nickel alloy and is great to work with. I would still get a professional tool for the bubble, single or double flare that has to be done to it. For about 180 you can ensure that your connections will be legit. You can sell the tool when you're done if you want.

Maybe it is just copper clad. I dunno. Also we refer to rolled "pipe" tubing or a line. hard staright pipe (like found in water supply) is called pipe. Rubber (reinforced or not) is called hose.
@piercekimmerly12 сағат бұрын
I may have missed something, but I think it's tube. The difference between tube and pipe is that tube it measured o.d. and pipe is measured i.d. 1/4 or .25 tube is 1/4 or .25 o.d.
@TrapperAaron17 сағат бұрын
Oh damn yall use copper lines?!?! In america we have to use seamless rolled steel. Stainless is not acceptable due to work hardening. Copper is unheard of. Unless maybe its just a copper cladding but dosent look like it.
@The96civicrider14 сағат бұрын
"Copper" brake lines for automotive use are very common.. it's not solid copper though..I have them on my car since 2012
@dobledekersoulwrekr12 сағат бұрын
Copper Nickel is what they are talking about and is used in the US a ton. Easy to work with and rust is much less of an issue. I do use the stainless "coil" armor over it

I really like this video! I own a high mileage Ford Fusion myself, which is very similar to your Fiesta. Currently having the same problem, but is still fixable by just adjusting the tension screw under the handbrake itself. However, I might need to do the same renewal you did in this video somewhere next year as the cables are beginning to look worn as well, thanks!

Love this mate, finally someone who appreciates the mk6 tdci as I do, mines clocked 134k just a baby still, bought it on 100k. Just a quick one, is yours mapped or standard? Also on standard injectors. Best car I’ve owned is my 1.6tdci. I’ve had thoughts of getting another car but can’t find a reason too, they look good/drive good, have great handling abilities (just put mine on coils/polybushed etc) I was thinking of keeping my 297 injectors and 1544 turbo on it, BUT because I love the car so much debating taking it off and getting it flashed back to a factory map as I truly do want it to last. As you say people always ask, why do you still drive that car , it’s old, slow and cheap. I just say, go out and drive one and come back to me. 9 times out of 10 they want one.

Good ol ryobi impact. Picked one up today from halfords for 153 with battery and charger. Ive got to replace the pipe from the compressor than runs to the condensor and the heat exchanger. Watching this to see how its fitted but he doesnt show it. Just whips off the compressor. Looks different anyway so guessing this is the 2013 to 2018 model.

Thanks for the video, concise and well done, I would never have thought to look inside the gear linkage cover box. An engineer friend once said to me that he would sack someone in his team for designing something like that.
@mclaren_media9145Ай бұрын
@@paulkemp4559 the Mk6 fiesta is by no means a modern car anymore but i do question a lot of design choices of cars from that 2000’s era, like for example how the power steering lines run over the gearbox housing and are bolted to it and the inaccessible nature of the water pump fuel pump and abs pump
