I have this machine and had the exact problem when using a shopvac. Clogging was so extreme so I decided to stop using a shopvac and use a large 100mm flexible pipe to collect the chips in a bin (so no real dust extraction). It worked but was really a pain in the a$$ because of al the dust in the shop. Now i own a large chip extractor with 100mm hose. Using this with the metabo works great; no more clogging and a lot less dust. I think the fast moving air of a shopvac causus clogging. The design of the dust hood sucks anyway because of the small dimensions and small outlet. But in my situation its working now

The hall sensor connector pinout on my hoverboard controller is in the order as the one on the ZS board. If the original hall connector is intact then just connect to the ZS board in the same order. In my case the blue from the motor connected to the yellow and the yellow to the white.

This is so cool. It’s like circuit bending. You want a different pitch out of the instrument, locate the resistor for pitch and put a a different value for different sound. I wonder if you could put a potentiometer or switch with 2 resistors in replacement of the 600film resistor and be able to control what film setting your in!

I had the same issue until i rewired it several times. If it runs really fast and makes noice and there is no slow torque the wires might be not right.

ah, you have the same problem I was going to ask about...@3:50, terrible low speed performance in terms of that grinding sound and I would guess also much lower torque relative to the hoverboard controller. I guess maybe these ZS-X11H boards simply can't do smooth low RPM's? The original hoverboard controller obviously does as when you stand on it and lean forwards it can go very slowly and very smoothly forwards. Too bad if this is the case as these ZS boards are way easier to use.

That dust hood design is definitely terrible. I really don't understand why it's not using the full 100mm and it reduces to such a narrow size. Even cheap chip extractors are 100mm, wtf Metabo. I don't really have a lot of issues with clogging, but even with the dust extractor working, half of the chips just get "extracted" in a pile on the infeed side. I'm happy with this machine but chip extraction is definitely its weakest point IMO.

Reverse is broken so almost half of the functionality is bad, it locks up so it's even worse than if they didn't provide the reverse. I hope it can be fixed by mixing around the hall sensor wires. (btw hacking hoverboard motherboards with custom firmwares gives you dual esc without such issues...) Any update?

Using same ZS-X11H. kzbin.infovwXGz9Ci9wY Not bad. But! - no direction detect. Only one phase encoder tick; - low encoder resolution, cause same reason - only one hall sensor in output "speed pulse"; - two modules are dead on the same wheel (maybe wheel is broken) at big torque reverse.

The e/s/c/ needs to be bigger than 80 amps but an 80 amp will work well.

These boards are really crap.. 6 of them went bad

I just have the issue that the charger won't charge the batteries, and the intelligent battery is always flashing red (thinking it is at critical voltage). Did you have any issue with this?

Hej jag har en liknande setup men min hoverboard motor har jättelite vridmoment när jag använde denna hastighetskontroll. Motor hade betydligt mer vrid moment med kretskortet från hoverboarden

One question on my battery there's a pcb on top of standard battery I'm happy apart from my pcb has two thin wires going to battery. Would I just disregard these and use balance wires as per excellent video? Many thanks Marc

Awesome video, I bought an old sx-70 sonar to dismantle and use as a Frankenstein experiment to make a custom 3D printed polaroid film back for my Hasselblad 500CM so I could get medium format quality but I fell in love with the camera and it’s in mint condition so I might just make it so it can use 600 film and I’ll dismember some other crappy polaroid camera.

The Phantom 3 batteries have some intelligence (e.g. auto-discharge to safe storage voltage). Has anyone succeeded to replace the cells also for a Phantom 3 battery when the old battery was completely dead? I read somewhere that the battery controller could set a "defect detect" bit in the battery controller when it detects a deeply discharged batterey which is not easily resettable, but I don't know if this is true.
