Still would like to have a M1a. To add a Sadlak scope mount, GA Precision scope rings, a Bradley adjustable cheek riser, Sadlak shims around the gas plunger, lastly a walnut stock. A least seven each 20-round magazines. Pure excellence!

I would agree with that " king of the battle rifles " I like mine. 😁 If I had to go into battle I would rather have a semi auto M1A than a full auto M16

Also most reputable gunsmiths are machinists and engineers by trade, gunsmithing is just their hobby.
