You used the wrong wire, you should be using marine grade 12-2

I just bought mine today, the last day of the sale 😊 I really wanted to get the 5000, but it didn’t have a pure wave inverter.

I highly recommend using an infrared thermometer to check your system while charging under shore power and/or solar then again while powering and charging. Then every six months after you retorque all your connections as screws and bolts will loosen as it cycles from cold to hot especially your MPPT

Do you regret not insulting your bus now. Time to head south in winter
@cycleoflife73316 ай бұрын
You need to add side support to keep the tank from bulging outwards especially when full. Those sides will bulge outlike an accordion. the pressure from the water sloshing around will cause a crack or catastrophic failure.

Do you think you can put in a small Washing Machine and Dryer?
@TaleOfTwoSmittys7 ай бұрын
Yes, our plan was to put in an all-in-one unit. The space under the front counter is exactly for that. In the end, we decided to use that space for shoe and coat storage or our dog's bed, depending on the time of year.

Quick question, what are the square part that have a bus bar running on one side, of them with the positive wire. And another wire on the other side. Are those fuses or resistors. Please help.

Does this have space for knockouts on the sides for all wires? I'm looking to install one of these but in a very tight area - I wouldn't have access to the back, only the sides.
@TaleOfTwoSmittys Жыл бұрын
There are numerous knockouts and a lot of space. Whether or not you’ll fit everything through the sides alone will depend on what all you’re installing and in which directions, but I wouldn’t expect a major space problem.

I was hoping to learn how to wire your breaker box. Why did you go with solid romex wire. A bus vibrates like a boat you cant have any floating free wire more then a foot or less or it will fail to cracking but will cause a fire before total failure. Price isnt that much more. Stopped watch halfway through. Not a very informative video
@Drizimar110 ай бұрын
That was my 1st though, solid core wire in a rolling earthquake, I can't imagine that wire will hold up long term. The wire really needs to be stranded and Ferruled where possible.
@sonofthedesert31326 ай бұрын
I am actually wondering why you both missed the actual wiring of the receptacles and didn't respond to that, since pretty much most skoolie owners will do spray foam insulation, which will prevent wires from floating free or rubbing against something and we all can see that he did secure the wires to the wood members before, after and in between outlet boxes. My concern would be that the push in connections will vibrate out and cause problems

You need to uae MC cable in exposed work locations, you didnt use wire clamps going in your box and you should be using gfci or combination afci/gfci breakers.

I'm working on our Skoolie's shower now; how's the tile holding up? I've been trying to figure out what waterproofing system I wanted to go with. Been toying with the idea of using an uncoupling membrane to reduce chance of cracking. Thanks for the videos!

Hi, wondering why you couldn’t just bypass the flasher relay or controller, so when you turn on warning lights they stay on? Seems it would be easier. I am wanting to do that on mine but I don’t have the fuse door like yours so not sure where they are.
