Very nice video. Did she record her hike? I don't think I'm able to do that whole hike -- Is there a shorter version that still gets some of the views?

I felt like I should have stopped right after the tree-line. I soon realized once I got to Eiffel lake that rocky high elemental exposure hikes aren't my thing! haha. But my husband and I had a lovely picnic sitting on the rocky path listening to the glaciers shift and rocks tumble. We also went in September! Such a beautiful time.

Very nice, but do you realise that you've just missed one of the most incredible views in Iceland, a few kilometres away from your viewpoint. Search for Huldujökull. You will get to see a glacier falling onto another glacier, and at least 8 major waterfalls

Love this video! Btw Hv is actually a Kv sound, and ll is like tl, so it is pronounced "Kvolsvotlur". And í is like ee so Vík is pronounced "Veek" and Valdís is pronounced "Valdees"

@@andreaanddave1883 Regarding these sounds as in fjall, fell, hellir and so on, this "T" sound is actually almost not present or at least very soft. You put your tongue in the same place at the gums behind the upper teeth, but instead of letting the air explode at the tip of the tongue, it is released at both sides of the tongue, while keeping the tongue at the T-position.

Ahhhh yes.....trekking miles in a foreign country to reach one of their most remote and beautiful places. Difficult to get to. Difficult to stock & provision. Difficult to maintain. Subject to notoriously unreliable and often bad weather. Definitely NOT a full service destination. Little more than a makeshift camp at the Laugavegur trailhead actually. And yet somehow not every little thing was perfectly curated and available when or exactly as desired? Wait for a bathroom so some can be cleaned? Leave the hut midday for a walk long enough to allow a cleaning crew to keep it livable? Kitchen not open 24hrs a day? Expected to be "Out and about" in the middle of the day in one of the world's premier hiking destinations?? Ugh...this would never happen in Aspen CO. Sorry for the snark but it all just came off as pretty "first worldy" (not that Iceland isn't a first world country) and a bit sad to let such trivial inconveniences drive you from one of the world's most stunning locations. But I suppose you're right, it works for some people......for the rest it's probably best to move on and find a Hilton.

LANDMANNALAUGAR HUT AND BATHROOM DAILY CLOSURE: I’m sorry to upset you. Dare I give a pragmatic response? Our videos are meant to be informative in ways that I have not been able to find elsewhere. This response is more for those who want to be informed rather than have a debate. However, I understand your point of view. Iceland is certainly a one-of-a-kind place and a true gem! I‘ve traveled to many remote locations, walked on glaciers with rope teams and stood atop many summits, so I’m well accustomed to the limitations of wild locations. None of these explorations were high-end or pampered adventures. For those who are interested in knowing before going; Landmannalaugar is a magical location and a must see! I’ve stayed in many huts like these in different parts of the world and none of them close their bunk-style hut for cleaning like Landmannalaugar. All of the previous huts I’ve stayed at work around people to clean and it’s fine. Additionally, there is not an official check-in/out time as extreme weather and trekker safety issues makes this not practical. Landmannalaugar has a canvas tent and picnic benches, so that’s their solution. So, the issue is not whether one desires a stay at a Hilton, but rather, it’s a matter of upfront disclosure. On the Landmannalaugar reservation site, where the “book” button is, it does not disclose that the hut will close for a couple of hours “every day” and that you will not be able to have access (or access to your gear even if already checked in) and that you will be effectively “kicked out”, no matter if you are tired, sick, sunburned or exhausted and then add the fact that half of the toilet facilities will be closed, likely causing a 30 minute or more wait when nature calls. One would naturally assume that if you are already checked in, you can hang out at your bunk to rest and recover…but this is not allowed. When making the reservation, you have to go to a different part of the site to find only the bunk check-in/out times, thus making it easily missed during the reservation process. The fact that half of the toilets will close, leaving you with no other option without at an hour hike for complete privacy, is not even mentioned. Upfront and obvious disclosure of these issues allow travelers to plan. Instead, it's buried in another part of the website that is not where much of the other disclosure is located. Again, the bathroom closing is not even discussed from what I can find. I get that they don’t want to deter people and virtually hide this information, especially the bathroom situation, but that information needs to be located right at the page (or after) where you select the “book” button. I’ve never been to Aspen, but it sounds like you have and don’t like it. We ended up going back to Landmannalaugar. See the video where I hike Blue Mountain..I think you will be less put off by it. Happy Trekking!

Beautiful shots, however, I don't agree with the use of drones when other people are also trying to enjoy an area. Some people don't want to hear a drone flying over their heads or want drones potentially getting in their photos.

Dave, please take a few seconds of your time and devote those to typing "Múlagljúfur" into Google and hit "pronounce". Please be respectful of words. Sounds have meaning. If someone called you "Dove" instead of "Dave", it would grate on you yet only one letter would be mispronounced. You mispronounced a number of them in "Múlagljúfur". It is worth trying to get it right.
