I buried cable for 2 years in Ontario Canada and we were supposed to get the cable 6 inches into the ground which was the full depth of our spade. That being said you go near a spruce or big birch tree, good luck getting anything under those roots. The company I worked for didn’t give us any power tools other than a drill so getting through roots was up to a dull axe and our shovel. Regardless it’s clear that this ground is dry but no obstacles in the way of getting down 6”. Very poor workmanship on the technicians part and if it were me I’d call and tell them most of the wire is still exposed because it’s shallow and the tech didn’t bother to stomp their line down at the very least. Very brutal job

About 7 to 8 years, then you will start having Internet drop outs, then after a couple of years of having techs out, telling me everything was good, and my router was the problem (it wasn't) I finally got a tech worth a shit, and checked the line buried (it was "leaking") had it replaced, problem solved. Spectrum for ya.

It has been a while since I've had new cable laid, so this seemed a little odd. Knowing now it is probably normal, still just irritated they took the long way around (more loss).

Help please: I ordered this same exact thing from Amazon. I’m new to this. When unscrewing I noticed that there was not a 2.5 inch ssd/hdd in the cpu nor was there one that came with it to install. 😳😳😳 1. So basically did not come with 2.5inch SSD/HDD 2. NOR SSD FOR NVME/SATA slot Is it supposed to come with it? In the video, I believe you skipped passed that and I’m not able to see the components that were pre installed in your mini PC when you opened 😢 Edit. Correct me if I’m wrong but maybe they are just for expansion and aren’t needed?

Very helpful thanks very much, there are so many options for these SFF HP PC's! Managed to snag a HP Elitedesk 800 G5 for £175, so about 200 USD? Obviously there are plenty of cheaper options, but it's got a 9th Gen core i5, and the extra storage options and multiple PCIe slots make it a winner. Hopefully it won't consume too much power on idle, I'll be replacing an old HP Prodesk (the super small form 1litre jobs).
@ntgm20
@ntgm20 15 күн бұрын
Very cool. From my limited experience, the idle power consumption could be very near or even less than the 1 liter minis. That depends though also on if you have multiple hard drives spinning all the time too.

Potato. I have 3 different omada APs and an ER605. I have sent back an eap225 outdoor, and 2 eap610 outdoors. I have an RMA open to replace the same eap610 you showed here. All separate unrelated issues. But their warranty is very good. I wanted to mention if youre using the controller you can utilize PPSK without radius and have the VLAN and subnet assigned via the password for a single SSID. it makes things a lot smoother for adding devices to the network. 1 SSID and you can just append iot, lan, cam, etc. to your password to set the vlan and thus ACLs. I personally like the single ssid better than seeing a bunch.
@ntgm20
@ntgm20 Ай бұрын
Wow, thanks for the tip on PPSK! I'll be looking into that soon. I had switched to using a controller with two EAP 610s. Right now it is all disconnected as we just moved and I've not set up my network yet. I'm ready to ditch my ISP's WiFi solution but just have competing priorities at the moment.

As someone who has an HP ZR30w (similar monitor but not quite as nice) I found at the thrift store for $10, I share a lot of the same thoughts. these monitors are BIG. but they also feel quite a bit more spacious than 25-27" 1440p monitors, and also more immersive in what you're doing. it's also CCFL-backlit, so power consumption on this monitor is at least 100W. the more modern Dell UltraSharp U3014 and HP Z30i have LED backlighting, so power consumption is not as much of a problem there - but still pretty high. Overall, 30 inches is just too big for me when my Dell UltraSharp U2515H felt like my sweet spot for screen real estate and saving space on my desk - and that's already pushing it with dual monitors. Oh yeah, I had to put the U2515H in vertical mode just to get the big 30 inch on my desk - whereas I could run dual horizontal 25's with relative ease.

Hello ! I am a little late here but still want to share my experience as I am completely lost with this TP-Link EAP-610 APs. I bought 3 of them late 2023, but was only able to setup my whole home network this year (6 Months later). All my APs have Hardware Level 3.0 . So I did not have any issues setting them up or accessing the web interface as my home LAN is quite simple. As Switch I am using a NETGEAR JGS524PE PoE and as Router I have a FritzBox 7590. All of the hardware I updated with the latest firmware. My Problem: I constantly have issues that devices that are connected to the EAPs lose their connection to the internet. Sometimes even completely lose Wifi connection. I opened 2 of the EAP610s, same issue (so I guess hardware failure is ruled out?) . I tried literllaly EVERYTHING to solve this issue. Changed cables, switched between PoE or Powersupply, changed Port on Switch, changed LAN port in another room....still, almost all devices (especially 5Ghz) have these issues....iphones, andoird phones, TV. Subjectively on 2,4Ghz it happens much less but still it does happen. I contacted TP-Link support and they told me to return the devices via my vendor to get replacement .... which I assume will not change anything. I couldn't find anything that would explain the issues and I assume if i buy an OC200 controller it won't be better...will it ? Someone else having these issues with the EAP610 ? Ah before I forget it.... I installed my old Wifi AP on the same spot(s) and everything works perfectly.

Thanks! I've seen from 9 to 20 watts at idle, depending on the efficiency of that board and the power supply. I have found different values for the same model with same part numbers. Top power draw of course depends on which processor is in there.
