Kindof a mixed bag. The benefic loses some auspiciousness because of being in a difficult house, but if it is well-placed with its own positive aspects from friendly planets, it can bring alot of ease to that house's karma. Ie, Mercury conj Pluto in Virgo (exalted in its own sign) for a Libra rising, 12th house, trine Venus in Taurus. A simple example, this would be a Mercury that gets very auspicious opportunities to deal with and *manage (mercury)* the Plutonian 12th house dissolution impulse (esp bc Pluto's house lord Mercury is doing well). Another example: Venus in 12th house of Scorpio for a Sagitarius rising. Venus is pretty neutral in Scorpio. Venus in 12th conj Pluto would have that Plutonian draw to the 12th H bed pleasures. Through Venus, much of what would be experiened would tehnically, by all means, be itself divinity - that is the Venus of that person, after all, and Venus is a benefic. But much, much Venusian pleasure energy would be wasteful, addictive, and compulsive at some level. The condition of the house lord Mars would say alot about having the self control to make the most of it.

You'd probably need a full chart reading to see how your venus works. Venus prefers to be closer the 4th house cusp, but it likes Gemini's lord Mercury. Good for career, for Venus apllies itself to something "productive..." but bad for Venus in some ways, bc one's true art and beauty is sacrificed for work... Still, if that is what your Venus is inclined to do, it is better to listen to that inner nature. But give yourself a break once in a while, and enjoy beauty for its own sake. :)

Yep! Libra is the 2nd house for Virgo in the whole sign system (which Vedic astrology uses). Venus as 2nd lord in Gemini would be the 10th house for Virgo, that is correct.

Part of the reason all of the cultures were blending together at that time was because the sidereal and tropical zodiac were united. It is only Mediaeval times that fragmented things. All due respect to your perspective. I think it will be important in the future for polarized groups to bow to each other's desire to find the truth and to work together on it. James Braha is good, Ernst Wilhelm is also especially good. You can look them and their classes up on google.
