80% devaluation sounds like a great buy for someone shopping in the 2-4 million range. Far more capable than Most citations in that price point.

The seats in the cabin were probably sourced from Ikea, and compared to Gulfstream seats look horrendous.

Well done with real information. Most of these business jet KZbins are worthless information delivered by IA voices.

As an A&P for a corporate outfit operating 8 and 900's. I'm just waiting and hoping the day all of these disappear comes sooner. They absolutely suck to work on, and the Mx cost are seriously expensive. Especially at the 16-year checks. To the A&P world, we can't cuss these out enough. Mechanics literally quit jobs because of how hard these are to work on. My advice is to get a citation X or an older Gulfstream. It's much nicer and easier to work on.

As a person who owned a large boat, got out of it, then with the much lower prices I saw late spring I got back in, I will share with you the dynamics of large boats ownership have changed. My asset price analysis was correct, however boat maintence costs have gone crazy, much like egg prices. Just four month post purchase I have spent 50% of my purchase prince on maintence, spending $1.80 for every $1 I estimated I would spend based on my previous boat. Perhaps jet costs are similar, where declining purchase prices will not result in lower ownership cost.

It comes down to the size of your business and the ride off you can have on your tax bill... The accounting team should be your best department you need to be close to in order to make the smart decision. As a business tool, losing 20/40% only after few years of the value of this time machine comes down purely on the Time you gain Vs the Reduction of your Tax bill. Often there is a sweet spot around 2/3y pre-owned when you are lucky enough to find a Jet owned by a distressed business owner

Pre-owned? FFS, just say "used". It's not a bad word. Pre-owned is pretentious. It is a transparent attempt to make it sound like something it isn't.

@BirdDog.
@BirdDog. 5 ай бұрын
For me the hardest part on evaluating preowned are the looming TBO, C checks, gear overhaul, interior and paint that’s required to keep them going. When you add up all those for a 15 year old plane you better have 3-5 million set aside for that on top of the purchase price.
