Hey there Lee. Truth be told, I was really IMPRESSED at how well this case wears. With the flat sapphire, it’s only 13mm thick. The bracelet is also very wearable with 20mm - 16mm dimensions. But your point is valid, kinda like the new ‘Mini’ vs. the original or the new Fiat 500 vs. The original - all of our modern requirements have swelled the size for sure.

I’m usually not fan of Chinese brand names but Seestar fits and looks so well on a diver. The only thing I would critique is the bracelet, it’s just too thick at the clasp area. If it would only taper down from 20mm to 16mm.
@watchmebuildit10 күн бұрын
Hi @adamw7411 - you are right, certain Chinese brands are investing heavily where it counts. Apparently Seestern is ‘Starfish’ in German - which makes sense! If 2mm on the bracelet at the clasp is your greatest concern, then I’d say they’ve done really well

Oh No! That is truly surprising. They seldom make mistakes, but when they do, they are quick to fix them. Not at all! You can turn it in either direction. When you are winding the watch you will feel a ‘buzz’ in your fingers. I would recommend you turn it 40 times in the morning. Your mods look great! Its strange that this comes with a mineral crystal the specs on their website say the following: Crystal: "Acrylite 8N specialty vintage high-dome acrylic" Depending on how the crystal is mounted I have had great success replacing sapphire crystals with Sternkreuz accrylics (ATCT) while maintaining WR for that acrylic vibe. Don't look down on 100m WR dive watches, in the early days Cousteau and all the SCUBA pioneers used watches with 100m or less and non-click bezels (except for BP who started the unidirectional thing. In fact the ISO standards came in around the mid Nineties, well past the heyday of dive watches as essential bottom timing tools so mostly the ISO certification ironically had zero impact on any watches acually used for that purpose.
@watchmebuildit2 ай бұрын
@Leec - a super helpful post. Thank you. I may have misunderstood the composition of the crystal. If it is acrylic I should be able to buff out any minor scratches. If that is the case, I owe DWC an apology! Thank you too for your insight regarding specification on WR. You are absolutely on the money, for the purposes of most mortals 100m is more than enough.
