Thanks! I appreciate that. I really need to get busy with some more videos. You can Olay this. As Richard Smith says, at any single place in a piece of music, there is nothing you cannot play, short of a reach issue. We just have to break it down the the measure and beat. So I encourage you to learn this.

Joscho, the only one actually listening and trying to adapt to the style of the singer and the actual song. I know they are good, but the other guitarists were just throwing notes for the sake of it, almost looked bored. Here you can see who actually practice harmony and musicality, and who just like to improvise while the rest of the musicians do the job for them. Joscho voicings were on fucking point.

It is a very fine instrument. Made by Paul McGill in Nashville. He uses a unique extra brace system between the neck block and the tail block to add support which allows the top to vibrate more. And his workmanship is incredible. He also developed the go acoustic pickup system that is amazing. These guitars are probably in the 8k range now but worth every penny.

All the young singers sound exactly the same ( Think Adelle). Pedagogically this sound is accomplished by closing your mouth and pushing forward with your tongue. Very little original sound. Very little interest.

Is that a Brooks Robertson signature model Kirk Sand? Great playing Jim! I ‘m sure you don’t remember but I spent the Tuesday night of CAAS week in 2014 in the bar at the Music City Sheraton visiting with you and Todd Hallawell. I was a little star-struck around Todd and blown away listening to you play Struttin’. Then got to meet John Standefer via your introduction. Hope you & Claudia (who I also met that year);are well.

Thanks Michael. Ha. Star struck is what I always am. I don’t specifically remember this but I am sure it was all fun. Yes, Kirk Sand guitar. I just had Paul McGill put one of his pickups in it. Amazing system. Claudia ins great and is officially my wife which is wonderful. She actually helped me get the Kirk Sand by talking with Kirk. He upgraded it to Brazilian for no charge! John is such a great player and teacher. I need to record it again because I left out the octave notes towards the end. The Sand was not in perfect tune up the neck. Kirk fixed that later. John does zoom lessons and if you are to a moderate level, a lesson will keep you going for quite a while. Keep playing! Thanks for the note. Look up Laura Spence/You Don’t Know Me on you tube for a treat with Jack Pearson and Joscho Stephan.
