Great job on the video. You took the time to explain most everything, especially with the carburetor. That's a really good looking engine and a smooth idle. You painted and polished it nice. I wonder what those rectangular port heads would have done with a little bit bigger cam with more lift? Love big blocks.

Do you have to take the distributor apart to change out the bushing? What degree bushing did you end up using? Would the engine be hard to start at 20 degree initial if you don’t have that MSD box?Enjoyed the videos! Thanks
@FFRCАй бұрын
Yes, I believe I had a 18 or 20 degree bushing. You can do it without taking it apart but it’s easier to take it apart. You should be able to start it at 20 but if it is hard to crank and you don’t have an Msd box. Msd sells a start retard module that we have used with good results. Thanks for watching!

The 049 and 781s can be made to flow really good by greatly opening the intake port face, because, the rest of the port is much bigger inside ! Also dont push the old guides out, it will be hard to seal them up ,instead driil and ream them for SBC press in guides, also order 2.190 Int. And 1.88 EX. Or they make a 2.300 intake also with 11.32cd. SBC stem for your Big Bad Chevy.. Using the sbc guide size helps flow a little also !
