You obviously promote Toyota. Your fuel consumption is ridiculous. Got a Jetour for a month. Did not go on long road yet. Fuel consumption at the moment is at 7.5 after 800km. Cannot compare with a low spec and over price Toyota Cross.

Thank you Sean - this is very informative. I think we will know in 5 years time whether this car has what it takes to be sustainable in terms of sales. Cars are becoming more and more expensive and brand new cars are unaffordable to many buyers, so people are tending to keep their vehicles for longer. Whether the Chinese brands can compete with the longevity of brands like Toyota, Hyundai and VW remains to be seen.

I did NOT think you were critical of any brand of car - you were purely factual. What I’d like to know is if these new brands have electric seats, or heated seats? How is the aircon, did you find it great. Has it got GPS? Just asking. I have a Jeep Cherokee, and love it to bits. But then we are talking over the million bucks mark. A well thought out and factual summary, thanks a lot.

Thank you for the review. You gave us some perspectives on how the Omoda C9 is. However, I am sure how your review would have been if you had gotten the weight of the vehicles right. You said a lot about the weight of the car and referenced it on many subjects of your review. Knowing the correct weight could have caused material changes to some of the claims you made. Either way, thank you for this review.

I bought the 1.6 ltr turbo in Dubai. This 1.5ltr SA version is older model. The new gen model does not have a gear lever and has a large 10 inch touch screen. Very good car. Just the steering wheel is a bit light. You can turn it with one finger whilst parking. But the features are more than my wife's range rover. Very good car for the low cost.

I find you very critical about Chinese cars drives , I have been driving a Chery for two years now with absolutely no issues , my partner drives a VW with a DSG gearbox which has been problematic since purchased new with a clunky gearbox , I have work colleagues that drive the TOYOYA across and hate it for lack of power etc , they prefer the drive my my Chery , I find that lately all car journalists criticise Chinese brands , the main establishment brands are not that good anymore and are pricy as well , so my view is we drive what we can afford and enjoy the ride

Sean, look man. Uhmmm...I am on the fence on this one. I appreciate the wave of Chinese vehicles into our market, they're bold and packed with features. I think legacy brands have been charging us an arm and a leg for far too long. Problem is I'm yet to hear of any of the Chinese auto groups actually setting up assembly plants and parts warehouses in our country. It's all fun and games seeing the Chinese elbowing out the Europeans, Koreans and Japanese, until factories close down and people lose their jobs.

I think in terms of the market it's great for consumers in the long term because now we will see whats real value and whats not. The brands that will survive, legacy or not in my opinion are the one's that in the long term give consumers value. We've seen from history that when the Chinese or any other brands for that matter didn't give products that are good they didn't survive long term. Now some of the legacy brands are suffering because the other brands (some of them Chinese) have helped most consumers get away from badge bias and look at value. Thank you for an honest review. Can't wait to see your review of the new X3 from a "luxury" product perspective.
