I am from Ontario Canada . My ion 2.2 quad coupe. The lower exhaust Down pipe flange rusted out and it’s leaking. Bought a aftermarket exhaust for 150 dollars gonna install it tomorrow. Parts are so cheap for cobalt and ions. Gotta love these cars more.

Wish you lived close to me I’ve got a 07 cobalt needs a timing chain or possibly just a tensioner and upper guide, I’ve watched videos on changing the timing chain just haven’t been brave enough to attempt it 🤣

If you replace the key you do have to reprogram i the key 👍👍but it's very easy. There are two procedures for reprogramming a 3 minute reprogram if you have the original key and a 30 minute reprogram me if you have no original key 👍👍 I have a video on it

Get the power window motor assembly from a wrecking yard and the door panels. Use the connectors from the motor and the switches on the door and then you can order an aftermarket wiring harness to finish wiring it to your car 👍👍

I enjoy working on a Chevy Cobalts, it's not my favorite year Cobalt or my favorite engine and I definitely would prefer a manual transmission. Having said that the car is a one owner fully loaded in great shape and crazy cheap and best of all I already had the engine for it from a parts car 👍👍👍👍👍

I got gas yesterday for $3.01 a gallon. Not sure where you live for it to be that high, I'm in WV. That car is in excellent shape though. My Cobalt is over 233,000 and still is solid minus the EVAP code I haven't got around to fixing yet. I drove 700+ miles in the past week or two and the only thing is the seats hurt after driving for over an hours LOL. I need better seats or something.

In the rear the coil springs and shocks Are separate 👍👍 Coil and struts assembly in the front 👍👍

I usually only fix the TPMS sensors in the tires (which cost about $100 each) when I take the car in to get a new tires I have them replace the sensors as well 👍👍👍 I personally don't want to spend the extra money to have tires mounted and balanced just for the TPMS sensors it's more cost-effective to wait until the tire needs to be replaced

I’m trying to program a spare key on 2010 cobalt and I use this method. It turns over with the spare after using the original key but the security icon keeps blinking and if I take it out and try to use the spare again, it won’t start the car and I have a solid security icon. What am I doing wrong?

Unless the spare key is unable to be programmed (if you got it from Amazon it might be suspect) it should work. The security icon indicates that it's not working, I have a video on how to do the 30 minute key relearn which is easy it just takes a lot of time 👍👍👍 That one is what I use if I don't have an original key 👍👍

My issue is after a solenoid change(by someone else) the transmission won't shift out of neutral. Would this be a possible cause?(I know that it could be a bad or improperly installed solenoid as well, but not looking forward to do that myself if I can avoid it and it might be something else)

2010 Chevy Cobalt SS (turbocharged) are by far my favorite car 👍👍👍. I have removed supercharged and turbocharged engines from Chevy Cobalts. On my channel there is currently over 400 videos most of them have different kinds of cobalts. I pick up about four to six cobalts a year as projects 👍👍👍👍

yes the water pump is timing chain driven, but they last a very very long time, i once saw an ion redline for sale with 338k miles on the original engine and trans

@@dandandarko9375 those Cobalt had a fault with their ignition switches where it would make the car shutoff completely. It did so with a few people resulting in 💀. One notably was an old lady where the car shutoff on the highway, and her being old was unable to turn the wheel because how stiff steering gets when the car is off and slammed into a wall and d!Ed.

Hey man I’ve came across a problem with my cobalts fuel pump. I was told i need a whole new tank since the fuel pump is built into the tank. Obviously you figured out how to remove the pump and replace it. Would you be able to tell me how to do so? I’ve looked all over the internet and cannot find how to do that or where to order the pump.

You have a California emissions car, you can replace the fuel pump motor inside the tank 👍👍 I replaced the entire fuel tank with a fuel pump from one of my parts cars because the non-california emissions fuel pump assembly is more available and a fuel filter is external 👍 I recommend going to a wrecking yard buy the entire fuel tank with fuel pump for about $50 You can buy just the fuel pump motor and replace it in your tank as well but the only place I found the replacement motor is the dealership for about 250 👍👍
