I have this issue where the gauges go crazy and it messes with the shifting of the transmission. To fix it I punch the side of the center console where the fuses are and it stops. There's an icon with a car and a lock that comes up, I have to turn the car off for 10 seconds and then it goes away. And my car is fine after that. It happens once a day usually.

Dayum, I have 268,000 on my 2010 LT coupe I bought new and mechanics always tell me you’re just breaking it in lol. That’s amazing it has that many miles. My gauges are doing that out of the blue after a lot of rain but only the fuel and on the screen saying 0 % oil life when it was 44% and 99.9 mpg when it was at 31 and sounded terrible when starting and sputtering and then leveled out on the idle issue. Drove it a couple of blocks fine but then started it later and was ok upon starting but idle in park will rev some here and there. My first thought was my battery hasn’t been changed for awhile close to 3 years maybe. Checked the battery in the trunk and tons of water around where the battery sits

Thank you for this. Been having a similar problem and a ground issue is the only thing I can think of anymore. Will be trying this in the morning.

I drive an ion 2.2. Very reliable engine. Except for the timing chain tensioner. Which I replaced myself with an upgraded one.

I put a ground on the ecm/ tcm each and I havent had issues in over 5 years

I've seen that done a few times and it works 👍👍 You're basically bypassing the broken ground on the ECM or TCM 👍👍

I've got a 2009 Chevy Cobalt with a P0049 code I can't seem to get rid of. Wiring checks out and the vent valve is new as is the purge valve. Did a smoke test and only found that the gas cap leaked so fixed that but nothing has gotten rid of the code. Any of your Cobalts ever have that issue?
@1020autorebuild6 ай бұрын
The P0049 is for a turbocharged for supercharged engine and means the turbine is spinning too fast. If your car is not turbocharged or supercharged you probably meant the p0449 which is the vent valve solenoid. Test the vent valve and of defective try replacement
@necrowolfgaming24946 ай бұрын
@@1020autorebuild Yeah P0449, I should have double checked. I had replaced the vent valve and when I take it off the car and apply power the solenoid outside the car it seems to work fine. I may just have to order another one just to be sure. The wiring seems fine too but it's got to be one of those things as far as I am understanding. Anyhow, thanks for replying.
