I ordered one to replace a very tired (but beautiful) Philips 212 Electronic. I dug it's vintage aesthetic vibe, which appeals to me more than a possibly better rig that looks like a black box. Crazy, I know, but at 72 years old I can probably enjoy this one as much considering hearing loss issues (my hearing aids are Philips audiophile recommended, lol). It reminds me of the 1970's QUAD 303 and NAD units in form and style. My furnishings skew mid-mod, although my components are not. Marantz Cinema 40, Wharfedale Pacific Evo 40 towers, Pac Evo 20 Surrounds, Opus Tri-Centre, SW 300 12" sub and SVS UItra 16. Bell'Ogetti rack. Nothing high end, but plenty of dynamics and full range competence. I also play a lot of DVD-A, SACD, and Blu-ray albums on Sony or Marantz universal disc players. I also wanted a direct drive (heresy, I know, but they're getting respect again) to handle my 180-200 gram vinyl without having to fuss with a belt every year or so. Going to play the supplied cart, then probably install my Grado Silver later. I really enjoyed this set-up video without the usual mega-opinionated narration belaboring the obvious.
