Good lesson but this is incorrect, not that it needs to be noted for note but missing some key techniques

SO COOL !!! but that damned tremolo picking that starts the solo is really hard to play... how many 'up&down' we have to play? I think 24... 3 bars with 16 notes each... or not?

I have no idea how you’re playing that barred A, sounds nothing like what I’m doing 😂

Your pitches are correct but the notation of the rhythms aren’t accurate. First, this song is 6/8 or possibly 12/8 (though I feel it in 6). It is a waltz but not all waltzes are 3/4. If this song is in 3/4 that would mean every two bars the snare is on the downbeat of 1. Putting it on 4 in 6/8 keeps it a backbeat. Second, your tab is set to 4/4. What are grace notes are notated as full value notes. Try putting everything in 6/8 with the beginning three notes starting as 4, 5, 6. You have them as 16ths yet they are the same value as notes you have notated as eighths in bar 14.

Thanks for your message. I did this video before I understood how to count time signatures. As a musician I was writing, recording and touring without knowing any theory. I since have changed that many years ago and took classes from a PhD level teacher for theory. I think you are about the 30th person to point out that its 6/8! All good with me as long as this video helps people :)

13:20 the end of this solo. It looks like he goes back to 1/8 th notes in the last two beats it was confusing me for the longest those shouldn’t be notated as 16th notes then I’m not complaining I’m just dispelling confusion

If you look up the “sheet music” for this song, it has several time signatures listed, though 12/8 is the most popular one. However, 6/8…3/4…even 4/4 are readily available. Personally, I appreciate songs that are easily adaptable to each person’s playing style. I mean, even Chris Stapleton changed it from the original signature to suit his style-and he ran away with all kinds of success doing so. 😉🎸🎼🎶🎵 Peace, y’all…

It's a very hard solo to learn there are a lot of great nuances. This video helped me a lot to find better fingerings which is always the hardest part to figure out in the learning process of a solo.

Great lesson, Thank you . One suggestion would be to have the words run under or over the video so the viewer could see where he is in the song. I'll figure it out.
