That keybed is the legendary Yamaha eternal keybed. It's got metal contacts, that's why it's a bit noisy and also, the keys have great action as they are hinged way back in the chasis, unlike most modern keyboards and midi controllers where keys have little travel and especially black keys can be difficult to press down. It's a Premium keybed and still cherished by many keyboard players since the 2000 when the motif es was discontinued, no other keyboard has had them.

I have a red one and I call it my "Car Piano". For the most part, it stays in the trunk of one of my cars. I have half a dozen keyboards/digital pianos so I find it really convenient to have this one that goes with me all the time cause you never know when "duty calls". Sometimes you're with friends and you just want to do sing-alongs or you have time to kill between appointments. I think the best was when I was up in the mountains of colorado camping in the middle of nowhere and just playing and singing along by the campfire, like how most people who with a guitar. I have convinced at least half a dozen people to buy this very piano cause it's probably the best beginner keyboard. It doesn't concern itself with 500 sounds you'll NEVER use and 300 drumbeats you'll NEVER use. It just concentrates and making the piano sound sooo silky smooth.

I appreciate what you shared here. What I grew up with was musicians watching and listening to each other, respecting what each other was doing. The “performance” mindset is destroying many ministries. The focus should be on ministering, engaging the people with the Word of God.
