Love love love going back to this time, my high school friends and I only lived 35 minutes away. We'd get passes since '81 when we were old enough to drive and it was something we could afford to do a few times a week after work. I loved going on the pirate & earthquake rides back then, my boyfriend (husband still today in 2024) and I would steal a few kisses in the dark riding back then. (OMG the fun times we and our high school friends had. Thank you for sharing the rides and some of the park attendee looks of our time.

Am I the only one here who thinks dolphin shows are more fun to watch than the BMX show?? Nothing against it but it gets repetitive after a while…

Only thing i dont get is why i see all these old school c.p.vids yet they film dumbest shit ..like plants..an aquarium..a consession stand..a snottynosed kid..an aquarium..a consession stand a snottynosed kid..etc..wheres the earthquake? And really the calypso? For half the vid? Only the outside of pirate ride? BOOOOOORRRRIIIINNNGGG

Having a bunch of family attractions, dark rides, animals etc. Would definitely make a better theme park as a whole. But they can't market that, or at least they don't know how. In order to get people from around the country they have to have the "craziest" of some non family ride. Which does work, but as a whole, the theme park disappears

Like a time machine! My mom used to sit up front with our cooler of food and drinks. We'd check in every 4 hours or so and gone to next adventure.

A by gone era that was so much fun! Glad I got to experience those times and back in the 70’s to! People today have no idea what CP used to be like. I have so many memories from that time, and will always cherish them!

I was born in 1996. Honestly wish I could experience this video IRL, even though some of my favorite rides were made after the 90s. Just think all the kids in this video are in their 40s and 50s.

I remember riding the calypso ride with my dad. He passed away when I was 15. Miss him, that was always a great memory of him. I remember the sky slide and kid Arthur’s court. I would spend hours there!

Start on modern Amusement Parks here. Cork Screw 1976, Gemini 1978. Wildcat 1979. And this yr: Demon Drop 1983.. Cedar Point always been one the Great Ones! Been going there since 1975. Still love old rides, too bad they get retired, sold...

It's funny. Time is a thief. You don't realize how valuable this sort of family video is until time has done what it does. Parents and grandparents grow old and pass on. Children grow up. Culture changes. Old beloved rides and attractions are torn down and replaced with new ones. Thank you for this trip down memory lane. This was the Cedar Point of my childhood and although I miss so much of what I just got to see again in your video, my kids love going to Cedar Point and hopefully their kids.

Was there that year. A young man of 21. Been going from 74 to 2019. Sad what it is today. I love coasters but to constantly take away free perks like the picnic garden etc. Its just too money driven now. And since its cashless i have no desire to go back. I will I'm sure with my kids and grandkids, but my time there is coming to an end. I used to buy season passes and go 3 or 4 times a year. I'm just not down with places going cashless and i don't go to them. The price is too high, the waits too long, the no cash, and just focusing on coasters and not much else has turned me off. Good video though.

Growing up in the 80’s, I remember my parents saving all the money they could to take us to Cedar Point. It was our yearly family vacation, and I loved every minute of it. A few weeks ago at my dad’s memorial service, in the slide show my dad was with us as kids at Cedar Point. Such fond memories!!!
