@ChristianChaplainsCoaching I am currently an ordained Pastor at my church. But I am also certified as a Chaplain through the NYS Chaplain Taskforce. I don't consider myself a Pastor, but a Chaplain. I am in charge of the Pastoral Care Team and do all the hospital, rehab facilities, and home visits for the church. I am interested in the CPE and other educational courses to learn to be able to serve with excellence.

@ramoncaceres8683 Thanks for clarifying. You could certainly join us in Chaplaincy perhaps. Many of our Chaplains are Pastors too. And CPE would be agreat option. Why not start a CPE application on our website?

I have a question. Let’s say, you are no longer part of your old church and have not yet found a new church home. With that said, you are not under a pastor at the moment. Can you still apply under this circumstance?

Yes. We do offer grace and can give a period of time for you to join a new church. However, you will not be able to remain a chaplain if you do not.

I am currently in a ministry school at CLI and looking to become a Pastor or a Chaplain. What degree is needed to become a Chaplain? Does CCC offer the degree or just the Chaplain certification or both?

@@John336NLT John, you are not asking a specific question. Generally, no degree is required to become a lay Chaplain. We do offer accredited CPE in collaboration with several seminaries. We can offer full MDiv with CPE included, leading to Board Certification. Every employer is looking for different levels of education. Some will hire with 2 year degree. Some with a bachelors. Some with Master of Arts. Some with Master of Divinity. Some require 1 CPE. Others 4. Some require Board Certification. Others do not. If you are interested you are welcome to check out our website.

A good book to read about how to conduct yourself in prison is, “Games Criminals Play” by Bud Allen and Diana Bosta. It outlines the many ways inmates can subtlety manipulate you into doing favors for them and then they blackmail you into doing something serious for them that gets you into deep trouble.

Hi There, thank you so much for this amazing information. I am at the part where you define the definition of a Christian Chaplain. You had defined it as "... a member of the clergy but is not a pastor or elder and does not hold an office of authority within the church." So if one is a pastor of a church, are they disqualified to be chaplain? Thank you in advance for your response.

They are different functions. Many of our Chaplains are also Pastors. One can certainly be both. Just recognize when you are doing the work of Chaplain, and when you are doing the work of Pastor.

Amen. I agree with everything in this video. However I do feel there is a shortage of disciples, everyone skips that IMPORTANT PART, most come as teachers.

My pastor is mentoring me and is very supportive, but he's not a chaplain, so I'm hoping to get some guidance from someone who is. Any help would be appreciated.

God bless familia, i just joined training clases for chaplain here in Puerto Rico, it has always been in my heart even more because i know Christ as my Savior, it was a little overwhelming because of my appearance, my arms and other parts of my body are tattoo, while others brother's and sister's were not, anyways just looking around to find more knowledge from those brother's that know more than me, Dios bendiga keep the faith. 👆🙏💪

Am an ordained Christian Chaplain,am glad to learn about your organisation and your ethos. To learn that you are Bible-centered is truly fulfilling. Am already Serving as a clinical chaplain at Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya. Already done level 1 (2 units) Am really desiring to pursue your programme so as to nurture and retain my rich Christian /Biblical tradition. Kindly help and support.
