As I have previously mentioned, "Ministry to the Incarcerated", has broadened my perspective immensely, even having served for 24 years of Prison Ministry. I would recommend this book to many of my Kairos brothers. While Kiros does a relatively good job in building Christian Community among the teams, having the insights that Dr. Covert opens up will make us all more open minded and better prepared.

I was fortunate to be a part of Dr Covert's congregation in Bellefonte, PA. To this day, I still recall two statements he made that are basics to living a submissive, surrendered life: 1. "Relationships are the most important." Especially necessary for self-centered individuals, it's vital to remember that 'esteeming others better than ourselves' is a step towards putting "I" on the cross. 2. "The basis for long term relationships is Love, Trust, Commitment." A chaplain encounters many people and may not realize how planted seeds grow and in whom. Usually it's in listeners who are least visible.
