Hi. Im an introvert and a Scorpio 😅 im naturally quiet, reserved, distant and some say im a mystery. Its gotten me backlash. I get called "evil", "weird" ,and "standoffish" bc I dont participate in drama or gossip. My social battery gets drained around low vibrational people so ill just disappear. yea theres pros and cons to everything. If you want to know how people feel about themselves or about u. Just be quiet and blank face and theyll project onto u. Its actually funny 😂

Before watching the video I wanna make this comment in hopes it’ll be broached by the author: Beauty, while “in the eyes of the beholder”, is also (to no lesser degree) objective; As beauty is a byproduct of FUNCTION. Functional = beautiful, and since functionality can certainly be measured, so, too, can beauty be quantified. Fibonacci numbers (the golden ratio) is one such example of it, and I believe social conditioning and contrarianism is what gives room for the subjectivity.

My current guilty pleasure is The Ultimatum and one of the women looks like Kacey Musgraves and Lana Del Rey because they've all had the same plastic surgeries...huge fake lips, nose job, veneers, boob job, etc. IT'S SO BORING.

I think about how life stops me from being able to reach my body's fullest potential in enhancing my senses, flexibility, and athleticism. However, I concure with the idea of being grateful and thankful for having the full functioning use of every aspect of my body which is a blessing. I do wish to work on taking advantage of enhancing its features to levels of divine mastery!

Recently finished reading Nabokov’s “Ada or Ardor,” and this video sparks a lot of parallels for me with its final part which goes into the essence of or rather, ‘texture of time.’ Memory and imagination transcend time, and therefore beauty, as it belongs to the realm of imagination and ideas. This for me is a neat way of explaining that feeling you described of beauty stopping time. When in a creative headspace or contemplating beauty, one is less conscious of the passage of time. Also, in the same way that we as sensualist beings strive to seize or possess time, we struggle to do the same with beauty. As the novel’s main character, Van, says, “I wish to caress time… I delight sensually in time, in the fall of its folds, in the very impalpability of its grayish gauze, in the coolness of its continuum” (p. 536-37).

I've been on a similar journey. I've cut down on a lot of activities so that I can enjoy more deeply the things I do. Planning things so there is space in between - space to rest, recover, and just be. Taking more breaks. Becoming slower. Giving myself more time. No more rushing, no more feeling like I'm chasing something, or that I'm trying to tick of things on a list... it never feels good.

Thank you for this! As a young person, I often feel that I need to rush to "get where I need to be" later in life. But when I really look at it, I realize I don't care about being "successful". I want to live.

Dear Mz. C. to split a hair: you say Socrates proposed an Eternal Ideal Realm along w/Plato when most commentators, historians of Philosophy would, as far as i understand, agree Socrates never made much of the notion since he was devoted mostly only to applying his "Philosophic Method" ie The Socratic Method. Dialectics, if i'm not mistaken. Beyond that Socrates was most reluctant to ally himself w/ any World View or propound any sort of Metaphysics in any detail (he mentioned he heard voices when no one was present and he valued what these voices imparted). If i may be so presumptuous; i imagine your confusion arises from the fact that we only have Plato, and a few other of his students accounts (students of Socrates, i mean) of just what it was Socrates was about. However there is, i believe, a clear distinction in the writings of Plato between the accounts of Socrates and then, as you mentioned, REPUBLIC or Allegory of the Cave etc and it is in these works where Plato propounds an Eternal Realm of Ideas. I have heard, Aristotle believed such a celestial, atemporal template kinda has to exist. Various Thinkers have considered the subject, it is in many ways the most central question, but, as far as we know Socrates gave no exact indication which side of the fence he sat!
@JulianRaphael-pr8jcКүн бұрын
Oops! No, i take all of the above back! Sorry! Just found out that the Allegory of the Cave is part of The REPUBLIC and that Socrates is the main interlocutor. Duh!

Hello, I just want to say up front that you are lovely and I appreciate your philosophy on beauty and what you're trying to do with it. I just wanted to comment on the topic of smell from the perspective of someone who's chemosensitive and 100% reliant on natural ingredients and self made products for hygiene needs, relative to the spiritual connotations of the "perfume" of a person. Perfume is not in that sense something that's additive to the body which one applies. It can't be bottled and bought or feigned. It exudes from the body like the smell of a rose and is a consequence of our health, lifestyle, and the indwelling spirit of life. I can give you the example of rice, in terms of that which ferments becomes sweet, but that which only decays becomes sour and foul. Many people who live out of balance with nature and their own duty to themselves, become foul, and rely on chemicals to compensate. Most of us are taught that our natural perfume is ugly, and are taught to hide it from the world. You can no more hide a bad natural smell under a perfume than you can hide a pimple under makeup, without piling it on. Unlike makeup, it's not only your skin, but others olfactory senses that are blanketed. The smell of a holy person, being true and from within, has no fear or shame in it. In the time of the Egyptians, and ancient Greece, they were sweaty, didn't have bathing as we do, or dentistry, they had bare feet etc... they were smelly and needed those oils. Today with what we know about hygiene and have available in terms of making things like soaps and creams, or our own shampoo and conditioning rinse, with natural products as close to nature as possible... we don't need perfumes. If you wear something out of a bottle it doesn't speak to your soul, only to your dreams, formulated by someone else. Our true natural perfume, a mirror of our health inside and out, can become the description of who we are instead of some lifestyle brand that for me, as a chemosensitive, would make it so that I could never even be in or appreciate your presence IRL, even passing on the street. Our natural perfume is beauty from within. Bottle perfume, is someone else's dream. Monks and holy people are often isolated and make their own products like soap, use herbs for cleaning their hair and bodies. This adds to their natural perfume, and they become a part of nature. In my experience I have never appreciated the beauty of a person any more because someone left a cloud of bottled perfume smell in the room. The leftover residue in the air is called silage. Silage is dreadful for indoor air quality in particular. You are awesome, I would love to see you consider embracing nature and the holy spirit in your pursuit of beauty as a religion.

I agree. I just simply want to ease through life surrendered only by the best this world has to offer in ever aspect of my life to the minutest detail. However, I feel that this current constructed world is determined to destroy my efforts. How does one fight against life itself?! The garden of Eden --- God's pleasure palace-- is where I was meant to dwell. Give me only the best and time to enjoy it. I will fight to the death to obtain this reality for myself.

Did you read Platos Parmenides? It is said to be platos hardest dialogue to understand and maybe it is a refutation of the forms, however, experts aren't sure. I personally don't think it is, and while I haven't had the energy to properly give it the time needed, I am looking forward to it. Dr. Sledge of the KZbin channel Esoterica recommended the Hackett edition, which has quite extensive commentary, which I am going to use, when I have the energy, to get to it. I did read it before, but that was a german translation (my native language) which doesn't offer such commentary. It is a fascinating book, but definitely very hard.
@HeavenSentHoneyКүн бұрын
Oh yeah. Aided analysis is SOOOO important especially if you are approaching subjects without a teacher or aren't a student at university. I often have to use KZbin and lectures from professors on here to make sure what I read was interpreted correctly! Good luck to you in revisiting the text! I'll probably have to read the text eventually. But for now I am a total novice haha.

Balancing time can be so tricky sometimes, it’s really about making the time just like how you give yourself multiple days to create your art/content in segments. The more time you give in, the more quality and value will turn out. PS your golden halo around your head is amazing. Symbolic of how enlightened you are!

i went to see andre 3000 during the middle of the week a little bit ago and actually requested the next day off of work because i wanted to really take it in and not rush to wake up the next morning to head into work. it was a huge reset, it allowed me to enjoy the concert itself, but also talking to strangers about it, noticing people’s immaculate outfits, lingering in the lobby before going home and performing my nighttime routine. those moments are rare, but i always make sure to treat them as seriously and as precious as possible.
