I came to Chennai for studying in 2003 , it was one of the most filthiest cities in India with stink , poverty and dirt everywhere ! I I lived there for 4 years not liking it so much. I visited back in 2023 , what a sea of change in 20 years , was pleasantly surprised how good and clean it turned out compared to other cities of its age like Mumbai and Kolkata . It’s being well maintained now . There were no parks to be seen back in 2003. People used to visit the beach in the evenings . It has become so much greener too .

The foot paths can be wider considering the ending lane is unusually wider .. expand the foot path and put up plants in between to encourage people walking ! Also get rid of those old looking 60-70s walls and install grills which will showcase landscaped premises of those building ! Lane markings !! Better than 15 years ago when I was there . But a lot more needs to be done

I applaud the cleanliness of Chennai, but even more can be done. There were still cracked/nonexistent sidewalks, a couple (but not too many) heaps of rubble and trash, and some poorly maintained buildings. First and foremost, eminent domain must be strengthened so the government can acquire the land it needs to build infrastructure. Second, FDI ratios are stunting the skyline, which will lead to high housing prices as Chennai keeps growing.

Better live in a small village in one of the Andaman islands instead of crowded noisy polluted hot sticky cities like Chennai bangaluru Mumbai kochi Kolkata Delhi etc...

Much developed then mainland India...... infrastructure much better than other cities specially north one
