The Cribs were a brilliant, ramshackle mess live. Very much of their time, I saw them twice on their tour for this album. Johnny Marr joined them briefly and We Share The Same Skies from the album he was involved with is their best song

I think Terry Bozio said, maybe in the drummers of Frank Zappa series, that he did read it off a sheet, in front of Zappa, first time around and nailed it by the third attempt! Great performance / reaction as usual.

I saw Kate Bush at the O2 shepherds bush a while back, around two years ago i think. In the 80's she was sooo good looking and attractive. But when i saw her at the O2, i was shocked . She was very much overweight, large in fact, and could not move much. And quite ugly looking. It was like watching a big solid piece of ugly disgusting massive rock just standing there, doing absolutely nothing. An immovable object. My admiration for her dwindled.

Evil that some people laugh at the wrong moments. Kate (and Gord) tried to stand up against the machine. Good for them. She payed a sticky price, willingly. Don't take this as a guide, its a condemnation.

great lyrics !! ..... December will be magic again Take a husky to the ice While Bing Crosby sings White Christmas He makes you feel nice December will be magic again Old Saint Nicholas up the chimney Just a-popping up in my memory Ooh, dropping down in my parachute The white city, she is so beautiful Upon the black-sooticicled roofs Ooh, and see how I fall See how I fall (Fall!) Like the snow Come to cover the lovers (Cover the lovers but don't you wake them up) Come to sparkle the dark up (Sparkle the dark up with just a touch of make-up) Come to cover the muck up (Cover the muck up, ooh, with a little luck) December will be magic again Light the candle-lights To conjure Mr. Wilde Into the Silent Night Ooh, it's quiet inside Here in Oscar's mind December will be magic again Don't miss the brightest star Kiss under mistletoe I want to hear you laugh Don't let the mystery go now Ooh, dropping down in my parachute The white city, she is so beautiful Upon the black-soot icicled roofs Ooh, and see how I fall See how I fall (Fall!) Like the snow Come to cover the lovers (Cover the lovers but don't you wake them up) Come to sparkle the dark up (Sparkle the dark up with just a touch of make-up) Come to cover the muck up (Cover the muck up, ooh, with a little luck) Oh, I'm coming to cover the lovers Ooh, and I'm coming to sparkle the dark up Ooh, and I'm coming to cover the muck up

Their a band. Its a movie. They come out over time. Have you done a reaction to Talking Heads "Burning Down the House" yet? Im new sorry! Thats another popular one that played on the radio and MTV a lot. This is one of their earliest perfomances. God I miss this era so friggin bad! The whole 70s and early 80s punk scene was epic. Rock scene too. God Im glad that the ability to record and listen was invented. Especially since so much crap comes out now. At least Greta Van Fleet aka the new Led Zeppelin gets it. There's still hope.

I do have to revisit 'White Chalk.' I didn't like it when it came out, but it was partly because she was singing in that high register. I'm used to that now, so it might be time to go back into the lyrics and music.

❤ They just released the 35th anniversary edition of their debut album 'Up To Here'. Like the other deluxe packages they've included previously unreleased tracks, demos and live recordings, the Misty Moon concert in this case. I really love what they've been putting together. This song is a weepy little thing, very special. It's interesting how Paul sings the lyrics first. 🥰 🐕

There's so much to PJ Harvey.. She's taught herself to play the piano in the middle of her career, for the "White Chalk" album. Great voice, and so much feeling.

I don't know if he has composed any movie music but he wrote Who wants to live forever for Highlander, that song is absolutely epic and perfect for a movie. I was surprised when I recently heard Brian wrote it, I had totally forgotten it was a Queen song.

I love how she just fired that drumstick somewhere over her shoulder 😅 Somebody said she's like a gunslinger on stage, it's not far wrong. Yeah she smashed the sh!t out of that cymbal, the other link I sent you is a much better recording, but this is still fire to me.

I'm confused. I was at Sixth Form when this came out and it was by The Beat. Where and when did the 'English' bit come from? Edit: Just looked it up. In the UK it's just The Beat. In the US it's acquired the name The English Beat. Very odd
