Hello from Okotoks. great channel you have. I walk to the Sheep River everyday that its open or I am out at Twin Valley.. Cheers.

Thank you! That must be nice. We had attempted the Sheep River a few times this year, but by time we arrive, it's always high and dirty. We're hoping to film on the sheep later this year.

Definitely a hidden gem. It helps that there really isn't any signage pointing you to the lake.

Nice lake. Not always about catching fish.. but rather cleaning off city life.

You got it! I have had some memorable days on the water where there were little to no fish on the line, but the surroundings and the wildlife made it worth it.

that’s a nice spot. I wonder who would be responsible for that dock?? Too bad it’s not complete, someone will probably get hurt walking g around there.. looking forward to Phylis
@fishonalberta24 күн бұрын
From what I was told, some of the volunteers had begun "renovating" the dock a few weeks before we arrived. Guess they fell behind. I will go back toward the end of the season and see if anything has changed.

The biggest was about 20". I believe my dad had the bigger one. Rain just keeps everyone else off the lake. Lol

We live in Dickson and I had no idea there is Perch and the odd Pike in there. We are usually fishing for Walleye in the lake. Caught a Walleye off the shore last week. The lake should be up in the next month. 😊 Great video. Thank you!
@fishonalbertaАй бұрын
I haven't personally seen them, however, just last year someone told me they caught a small pike in the pond. Will be nice once Gleniffer Lake is back up! Might do a video on that side.

Very true. I haven't really payed much attention to how long it takes to fill up. I normally fish Dickson in the summer, when it's full.

Great video. I always download the fishing regulations on my phone as a pdf. That way I can quickly look up the regulations of any body of water by typing in it's name.

Funny thing we just returned from Strubble not even 30 minutes ago and this is the first notice I get on KZbin! Hahaha… Was a bit slow today out there , saw 3 all day and caught 2 bows. Question “what was the derby you referenced toward the end??” Is it open to all?? thanks for taking the time to film this stuff, enjoy them all…
@fishonalberta5 ай бұрын
KZbin's algorithm can be on the ball sometimes. Vic & Ter saw schools at the beginning of the day, but not much afterwards. The derby I heard about from a couple of folks on the lake that day. After doing some research, it looks as though it is an annual family day derby. Can't find a whole lot of info on it, but will definitely keep my ears to the ground. If I find any info, I will post it on our Facebook Group.

Living in Eastern Canada and being an active and traveling fly fisher I've been aware of the Livingstone and several other nearby streams since the 1990s .. There are few secrets when it comes to trout water. Most of the disclosure is in the AB provincial fishing regulations not here on YT.
@bourbonbuddy110 ай бұрын
The last couple times I've been on the trunk road or the Crowsnest, it just hasn't been fun. Very few fish, hot and hardly any water. I won't be going back any time soon. The good old days are a thing of the past. I think the Crow may have been hammered by whirling disease.

Hey there. Just watched your videos, and i'm hooked. I really appreciate seeing the regs in all your videos man! Keep up the good work. Nothing wrong with bringing some sensibility to some trouble spots in this province. Cant wait to see more. Ciao

@fishonalberta10 ай бұрын
Not sure what you're getting at. The James River can be an alright place to go, provided you do a little research first. If you're willing to hike away from the main bridges, there are some nice Brown Trout in there.

A video complaining about pressure and you put the name of the fishery in it??? C'mon Fellas
@fishonalberta10 ай бұрын
We weren't so much complaining, but trying to bring awareness to the river. I think some people are missing the point of the video. Again, the Livingston River is no secret anymore. I would much rather inform people of the regulations, and what they can do, as opposed to trying to hide something that can't be hidden anymore. I really wanted to put the regs video in this episode, and it wouldn't make much sense to talk about regs for an "unknown" water body. Me mentioning the river isn't going to help or destroy this fishery. Thanks for watching though!

I thought all rivers in Alberta were catch and release and no bait allowed. Great fishing spots you found 😀🎣🐟
@fishonalberta10 ай бұрын
There are quite a few rivers that are Catch & Release. So you're not wrong. But I believe a lot of it depends on what you're going after. Many of the Alberta rivers and streams regulations can change seasonally, especially around spawning seasons. Thanks for watching!

Thanks! It can definitely be quite effective on some lakes. During this trip a fish actually scared the tar out of me, because while I was trolling around, I was looking around at the landscape, and a fish hit hard and I wasn't ready. Lol
