I’m so sorry I didn’t reply earlier. The last leg of Nakasendo was from Karuizawa to Yokokawa and it was around 16 km (6 hours) walk. I thought I’d share the link to the website where you can see how long was each day hike okujapan.com/trips/nakasendo In terms of the leeches, I believe they are there only during the warmer months, but we only found them on the very last leg of the walk. I hope it helps. Enjoy your trip!

Ooooo...your video is MUCH too short. I know Edinburgh very well, and the pace of your editing, the warmth of the colour, the scenes included and the overall tone of the presentation are perfect. I also love that you featured mainly the New Town, which compared to the touristy Old Town offers, IMO, a superior experience. Though you show St. Stephen Street (Golden Hare Books, Mr. Purves etc.), there are numerous areas within just a few minutes walk - the Gallery of Modern Art (One and Two), Dean Village, Stockbridge, the colonies on Glenogle Road, and the Royal Botanic Gardens amongst them (nice to see Circus Lane included). Indeed, one could visit Edinburgh and have a fabulous time between the New Town and the sea (the Firth of Forth) without ever entering the Old Town. That said, the Old Town (and beyond it to the Meadows, Bruntsfield, Morningside and those beautiful residential areas) are also worthwhile. My point is, Edinburgh is much more than just the castle and the Royal Mile. There are many unique and wonderful worlds within its immediate centre and adjacent neighbourhoods. Thank you.

We used Oku Japan, and they booked it for us. www.okujapan.com/. Oku Japan is a local Japanese travel company, not a mega brand, that collaborates with local communities to support their villages. Additionally, Oku provides maps and directions, which are super helpful despite the trail being well-marked.
