In 2019 many of us are wishing for RE to put that 650 engine on Himalayan!! And they are doing it right now!! I own a 411 Himalayan, looking for an upgrade and the new 450 didn't felt like a big upgrade from 411 for me. I rented the bike for 15 days and rode in Ladakh. It's a great bike, but that's not what I would call as an upgrade. I expect something more powerful for that weight & something that is more agile. On the other side Triumph just launched 400X, getting closer to perfection in the segment. End of the day Bajaj & Co., just need to figure out a low cost version of 660 CC & that will be end of this chase. May be it's too late for RE to bring 650/750 on an ADV. They need better platform that is lighter and agile!

Dominars alwz a dominar...its weight ergnomics its reliability service etc. all unmatchable. For shorters & stunders..go cry to ur momma...but yes its time dom to get an update...but keep its weight...increase power..increase torque...increase electronics..service & touring friendly. As i said shorters & stunders go for 250ccs. Big buys ride big bikes. Wait & see

it needs more work then you can think off. i love when people joke about NS200 or RS200 it just suits well., by the way i own a NS200 2024, So honestly saying it's not for everyone...! i bought it just because my budget didn't allowed anything else at that time , i like the bike it doesn't mean you will soo think twice before buying . i just wished if Bajaj wants to Update it, update it the right way.. don't be a joke 1. Engine i wish Bajaj went with DOHC engine not SOHC come on it's really outdated now, it works but time to move ON, bike is lil bit refined now but there still vibrations but its totally fine.. 2. better suspension setup? i have no idea why they put 33mm USD on it, like you got the 37mm USD in your pocket so why??(better milage lol) yeah its there but it feels weird.. also i don't have to talk about that 10 years old rear suspension if you know you know! 3. better tyres.. you been skipping this for years now 130 section tyres on a 200cc bike. performance sport bike?? really! also let me tell you one more thing new ns200 alloy is so f### up you can't even put better tyres on it 3-inch alloy at the back for reference NS400z or KTM duke 200 or any bike from KTM or any other performance bike they got that 3-inch Alloy at the front and 4.5 or 5 inch at the back lol it's a joke you cant even put better tyres on it. (someone scramming behind bro lite wheels better milage well yeah..) 4. Brakes - byte is ok but not reliable and feels cheap. 5. LED headlight the DRL's are bright but the headlight not good its barely visible. the list goose on and on so i don't want to waste my time. Bajaj thinks the liter the bike is the better milage you will get still it struggles to give 40kmpl. now you can understand there engineering and mind set. i don't recommend buying this bike skip it if you have any questions you can ask as of i own the bike, and RIDE SAFE

Of course they do. Companies here know that they can escape their stupidities easily. The government doesn't care and consumers don't have time to fight for their rights. Most of them don't know they have rights.

If Hero is selling the most number of motorcycles, does it mean that they beat every single motorcycle? In sales, yes, but in some other aspects, not at all. If you say Bajaj can beat RE, in sales?, they should sell something like classic 350 or the other products. If they are selling pulsars more than the classic 350, they are still looser in classic motorcycle game. And RE is a looser in sports bike game.

@motorincclips This is an amazing discussion. Sharing my two cents - As a product manager working in an IT firm, we look at strategies at a lot, and I believe reusing the existing platforms to extract the maximum juice is beneficial given that there is less R&D expenses and revenue from all different variants. Look at Apple, how they are using very similar phone frames from Iphone 11 till 16 with little changes and are still making big. However, every 5-6 years once, there should be a new platform. I believe RE is cooking that behind the scenes as far to get a new platform to deliver a production ready motorcycle, it would take about 6-8 years. On the other hand, with several platforms, the cost would go up with less profitability margin, whereas Bajaj will face heat when there is a decline in sales.

With Triumph partnership, Bajaj is able to roll out about 2000-2500 motorcycles in the 400cc segment consistently now. Which was not the case before with the Dominar and Duke 390. Basically they have levelled up from the mass market 150-250s to the 400s now. That is where RE’s territory lies. Both Bajaj and Triumph now have the common enemy. I say Triumph because RE is making inroads in the UK big time with their retro singles and the twin. So, this partnership will go a long way with more motorcycles or variants of 400s

I think RE is doing just enough for you to pay a little more for their bikes without there being any solid reason for you to do so. This irrationality and you falling for it is whaat I think will make RE a premium brand. This is assuming they do improve the mechanical aspect of their machines and keep making them better. This will be them doing more than enough.

Alright I can agree with the above points about the parking sensors .. I've got the delivery on 27th nov this year and it's been a month since then I've driven the car for nearly 800 kms the three main things which I like being in it the first is the nvh level even when I don't play any songs or turn on the ac the cabin is quite silent compared with the other vehicles in the segment and it is peaceful tbh the second thing I noticed the suspension I live in a area which is semi urban but at sometimes I find some potholes and some really bad terrains road and honestly saying the suspension impressed me a lot even when my car is full of 5 persons and some luggage it doesn't make you uncomfortable at all and the last is the engine .. mahindra really nailed in this part the varient which I have is the AX5 which is not the tgdi one but the power it have doesn't make you feel the difference trust me when I say this you won't get to know you're driving in a triple digit score however that's not the smart to drive in a high speed but what I mean the engine feels so refined and so peppy it overtakes so easy it accelerates excellent and it doesn't remind you of driving a sub 4 metre car at all😂😊 I would say to any new buyer if you're planning to buy a car in this segment don't ignore 3xo it's a complete package car especially the AX5 variant.

Husqvarna is not seen almost anywhere. Triumph 400 are also very less, hardly seen two in 2024. Dominar is more common, 250 did not work but 400 is in good numbers.

I think Royal enfield is a very different brand, bajaj or any other brands aren't able to compete with them It doesn't matter if they have a product or not, it's not about the product it's about the brand where Royal Enfield won without competition

Every brand get noticed when they bring game changing products. Bajaj came with pulsar thereafter nothing till now. People brought discover coz they like pulsars. RE pulled out himalayan which no brand would dare to do it. New himalayan is 5x better. People mindset will be to buy a hunter or any other RE coz they appreciate himalayan.
@beyourself9500Күн бұрын
RE is successful because of their marketing and emotional brand image they have made. And they have also been innovating new engines and designs. Bajaj I don't think they have any strategy in mind. They are earning from making bikes for ktm and triumph. They have lost touch with bike brand bajaj. We are not seeing any new engine or design from bajaj. They have stopped innovating. They have to keep bajaj as a brand separate from bajaj who makes bikes for ktm and triumph......just my view...

It sounds like Samsung vs apple. Apple charge premium slow updates but sometimes major change but it works otherwise just pulling same thing with different name. Bajaj is like android samsung putting product at all range all the features but failing to sell premium ones.

Not sure why Hero and Speedbrain partnership has not given us a bigger cc rally bike other than what they do in dakar. Xpulse 400+ is well overdue and with their enormous dakar experience, it's time their experience materlise in real world bigger cc adv.
@vishnupillai30020 сағат бұрын
X440 and Mavrick are good bikes..Both developed by Hero.Xpulse 421 is more complicated as its an LC engine powering it..Better to perfect it before launching than briskly launching a half baked product..

It is like one works in closed variants and another in open variants. And Eicher motors(the parent of RE) has been targeting the niche, minimalist and classic design. RE was never meant to be sold to everyone, it is a hype and lesser number of consumers will purchase it in the long term.. until then they need to work on convenience and comfort in order to sustain in the long term. Both will survive, the one who will doom is “Hero”, for sure. Also, you forget to mention Bajaj also has KTM under its umbrella in partnership. At some point after gathering all the good data, Bajaj will ditch all the partnered brands for good.

I think the RE strategy works for a reason. Our country's laws are very much against mods. There are certain place in our country that is so strict that even changing the seat can get you in trouble. So with RE they take one product and cater it t whatever style every person likes(not that any other brand hasn't tried this) but this wasn't done to this level in India. you take one product, make a Roaster, cafe racer, bobber, cruiser and one for the OG bullet audience. you take another product that is more affordable do the same. your competitors are getting faster. make the guerilla and the himalayan 450,there's probably a sporty bike and a scrambler coming up probably. Yes parts are obviously gonna be shared across models, like it has always been with all brands, sometimes across brands or sometimes rebadged.
@aashutoshbhagat2677Күн бұрын
I think Bajaj should make a retro bike based on 220f engine. Because that is their legacy bike , legacy engine which has been there for years. It refuses to die . It would be nice to have a retro bike based on the classic Pulsar with round headlight. Bajaj can actually have a chance to compete with RE Hunter 350 and kill its sales because what the Hunter 350 lacks is raw power and performance despite having a sporty neo retro roadster design. Bajaj actually has a lot of showrooms and service centres which Honda Bigwing, Classic legends, Hero-HD or TVS don't have in abundance. They actually can sell around 15 to 20k units per month.
@manjugoku6206Күн бұрын
Bajaj is so pathetic, they wanted to take on RE so they launched dominar 400, dominar failed to make a dent on RE sales. Now since Bajaj know they can’t take on RE anymore, they brought gonda ( triumph ) to beat RE. 😂

I think the next best off-road capable adventure bike is the new XPulse 210. The design has gone back to the impulse-type ergo and tank design, twin cradle frame, and linkage, which are major updates from the present outgoing model (which is more or less based on the stress member frame from the old Karizma/Xtreme road bikes), I am sure the water-cooled engine will compliment it overall and plenty of room to make it light weight if that's the goal as well.
