Not just cars or bike, there are some Volvo multi axle bus drivers who seem to cut through traffic on highways like hot knife through butter. A pleasure to watch them and stay behind them because we are so fast, even if at 90 kmph! Edit : Thanks for the likes guys! As for where can this be seen - I have experienced this on the Bengaluru - Mumbai, Hubli, Raichur, Kurnool, Trivandrum etc where the butter smooth highways make it too easy a process. First on my Himalayan now the Duke 390. I stay around 200 m away from them as they have powerful air brakes. Covered Kurnool - Bagepalli 240 km in around 2.5 hours sometimes. I cruise at 110 kmph sometimes going to 130 as mine is the brash 2nd gen where the 6th gear at 6000 rpm is at 120 kmph

The more you ride (or drive), the more you expose yourself to newer conditions or situations. You will make mistakes, and as long as you can take away something positive from those mistakes, you will continue to improve. There is no shortcut to becoming better on the road. I've been riding and driving for the last 35+ years, and I still make a mistake here and there. What I learn from each one of those mistakes, continues to make me better.

It's a pleasure to find a driver on the highway who drives nicely yet keeping it fun. Then you can drive around for miles like ballet, with mutual respect for traffic.

Love those unplanned teams you make with similar paced & skilled drivers on expressways. Following each other as if you’re a team on a heist, cutting through traffic like a snake, while maintaining safe distance.

Last Thursday, the same story with me, I was on my Xtreme 160 with my friend, and a guy passed me on a ktm, no unnecessary movements, patience, no aggressive riding, it was a delight to watch...I just watched him for the next 4km, until he went separate ways

I too have developed a habit of letting the smaller commuter segment 2 wheelers take the small gaps on left hand side when traffic is dense. If I can judge that my Enfield will scrape off some car's fender/bumper or knock off ORVMs due to limited space, better to allow the trailing narrow 2 wheelers negotiate that instead of blocking or plugging the way. @Kartikeya @Shumi... You guys are really making me a better rider and driver with every video that is uploaded from your end. Thank you...!!!

I'm a left foot breaker. Over years I practiced it myself so much on my polo GT that, I Build up so much muscle memorie, I forgot how to break in right foot 😅. I feel left foot breaking more comfortable. Sometimes when I race with someone on the highway . They have no clue how fast my response on the Gas after I break because when we are right footed we take some delay to switch our foot from left to right or right to left. But when your learn how to break in left foot you don't need to switch your legs its just tap tap ...... but be aware of one thing while on the traffic you need to be very quick to switch your left foot to clutch when you slow down.

Wait. I was casually reading your comment till the end when you said clutch. So you use your left foot for clutch AND brake??? That's bonkers mate! How do you do that? 😮

I am not sure if it has anything to do with the type of machines a person drive, but I have never come across any Swift or Creta or a Seltos being driven excellently... Some of them drive normally but have never seen an exceptionally driven one so far. Most hatches drive insane these days on highways and as the car prices increases, the driving sense seems to improve. Majority of SUVs in South India are driven sane and so does the luxury brands like a Merc of a Audi (yep, Beemers are still treading the thin line 🙂). I used to joke with my wife that most of the erstwhile Swift owners are now Creta/Seltos owner and the cars might have changed but not the driving sense. But yes, no offense to any car owners, just stating what I have experienced over my 25 years of driving experience that too mostly across South India.

This is exactly why I have auto rickshaws in Pune. They will actively plug the gap through which they cant pass. So everybody who is riding an activa or a splendor is stuck behind them. Incidentally auto rickshaws in Mumbai will move to let you pass in the first instance they can, no matter if you are driving an active or a multistrada or a car...

Basic skill of driving is not explained at any place. Theory and practice in controlled environments and then out in the real world. Skill #1 is keep calm and assess the environment.

Driving a car in traffic and not allowing a bike to pass by is a bad attitude and jealous from a car driver. Even though they knew they cannot pass by from narrow space in that traffic but still they block that space even for the motorcycle to not pass.

I get really sad when I see the slowest of the cars using the right most lane. The faster cars coming from behind are left with no choice but to overtake from left, something that's actually not good. God knows when will we become lane smart.
