I have a question. So if I graduate with my masters in GA and want to move to another state and be an SLP there. Do I need to get a certification for that state? Did I use the right their? there? LOL

Can you touch a little more about funding after getting your master's degree? For example, during the fellowship portion, do we have to pay tuition? Also, do you have any idea if acceptance or license to work as an SLP is affected adversely for international students?

Probably a silly question but would it be necessary to go through grad school to completely finish the years to become a SLP or after bachelor’s you’re considered one and you’re just mastering a specific age group after that? I’m only just finding out of this career path so im doing all my research, thank you!

In Australia you only need an honours degree not a master's. Pretty cool. Speech is like a dream job for me

I graduated undergrad in 2008, so there's that.😮 I completed all my leveling classes with good grades, but due to working full-time, i could only take 1-2 courses per semester. Now I'm applying to Grad school & looking at the curriculums, i'm expected to take 4-5 courses per semester. I'm a nervous wreck.😬

With all due respect - the amount of “like” distracts us from getting information, ironically, from an SLP and an SLP assistant. You have to be more aware and get rid of too many “like” (Esp for Hailey)

Terrible career. Little to no growth. Easily replaceable by new grads. Hard cap on salary. Not transferable degree if you decide to change career. If you know people in the field, then you know how bad it is.

What do you recommend then? I had to drop out of optometry school because of how difficult the physics and pharm classes were. I would still like to do healthcare but preferably something without chemistry or physics. I know it limits my options but I genuinely cannot comprehend the material.

I know this was posted a long time ago but as an autistic person I really don't know why anyone (both neurotypicals and other autistic people) cares about the identity first vs person first stuff. It's not that deep, it's just a different way to phrase it. I use both person with autism and autistic person interchangeably every day just based on which one sounds better in the sentence/makes more sense for the context.

Magnetiles and playdoh! You can incorporate so many learning points like shapes and colors, and good words kids should learn with both! Magnetiles, line them up, stack!, put on, take off, etc and playdoh you can make it into almost anything with a little creativity and a lot of easy words like roll, squish, squeeze, etc. I doo loveeee bubbles though lol. It was very hard to leave them out from the two.
