Hi, is there public transport to the oyster hut area?
@MarisAroundtheWorld6 күн бұрын
There are some infrequent buses that go to some of the oyster hut areas, but these take 10-20 minutes longer than driving. The simplest way would be to take a taxi from the train station. Uber works in Japan too so you can try that for getting a ride back.

I recently watched your 2 videos talking about your experience studying abroad at a language school and the costs associated with it. Great and helpful videos but in your cost video you mentioned you've been in Japan for 4 years now, so after graduating language school I'm curious as to what visa your changed to or if you're still on a student visa but attending a different school.
@MarisAroundtheWorld18 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and glad you found the videos helpful! After graduating I was able to switch to a designated activities visa for Japanese descendants.

Is it possible to obtain a Japanese driver's license while studying Japanese language in Japan on a student visa?

I think it’s possible but can’t say 100% since I haven’t looked into this

There's a lot of more popular hiking/camping channel. But upon checking them out, it's just instant turn off for me with their obvious marketing fancy product placement. All im saying, just keep what you're doing, this channel feels more personal and real.

I just came back from Fukuoka (I live in the US); I was planning to visit Itoshima but unfortunately didn't get around to it. Now that I've seen your video, I'll make sure I'll visit there next time (which will be next year). Thanks for the guided tour.

I hope you visit next time! It’s one of my favorite places :))

Great video. Where did you learn about the history of the place. For example, the fun fact about the origination of the yatais in Fukuoka.
@MarisAroundtheWorld18 күн бұрын
Thank you! I have learned a lot about the city and its history throughout the years that I’ve lived here and through my job. (I have given walking food tours that cover yatais)

My friends and I were there in the first week of October last year! The weather was so nice and sunny the entire time we were there and did the hike from Daisho-in temple as well. It was still quite warm and we didn't bring anything to drink going up so we were definitely very thirsty and tired by the time we got to Nio Gate, but saw that same vending machine at 5:27 that saved us xD the 360 views at the top and our souvenir pin at the store in the observatory to commemorate having gotten to the top was worth it. We took the ropeway down to the park and the views going down were just as amazing. Our ryokan was well awaited to relax after exploring the island and would visit again. Definitely a highlight of our trip <3

Yes, there are a few restaurants in the building that are open outside of Citizen Appreciation Day. Some are closed on Sunday though! maps.app.goo.gl/JTLu4dWQU66QEBnMA?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy
