Thank you for doing the 1 year review. I'd be interested in your opinion of the 55" Samsung Ark 2 in comparison to the 57" G9 and the 45" LG, specifically for gaming.

$450 in Australia. I’m usually very careful and picky with my tech, and your review was one of the few that are mostly objective. These looked like a solid option from a reputable brand, but I’m extremely disappointed. Unless you’re in a perfectly quiet room, these just don’t live up to the brand’s usual standard. The comfort isn’t great compared to over-ears, the Bluetooth connection is unreliable and clunky, and the sound quality is abysmal. Below 40% volume, the sound is decent-but only if you're in a quiet environment. To make matters worse, Bose customer service was no help when I tried to return or exchange them. I expected better from such a reputable company, but this experience has been frustrating from start to finish.

I’ve been daily driving this monitor for almost a year and there’s nothing comparable. Upgraded from the Lenovo 5k2k screen and it’s been amazing. I hope they’ll continue to improve the screen in the next iteration. On my wishlist: - USB C with PD so I don’t have to have use a separate TB4 dock - Build quality is fine but not for this price point. My Lenovo feels much sturdier (P40w20). - Scaling on Macos is not possible because of the 8k framebuffer limit so you'll have to use PbP if you want any scaling. But I guess it's more of a macos issue.

I have the 49" version and agree with most of your points. For me, the worst part is games that don't support the aspect ratio. I've been playing Space Marine 2 in a 16:9 window in the middle of my monitor and it really sucks, especially with how close the camera is in that game, it would be amazing to have some extra peripheral vision. Other times games do "support" it but crop the screen in rather than giving you extra vision on the sides, Overwatch is an example that comes to mind, it's like being permanently zoomed in and you can't see what's going on above you. Even when games do support the aspect ratio, the image gets distorted on the sides and makes things look way larger than they actually are. If you're focused on the center and are just using it for immersion it's fine, but something good to know if you've never used a super-ultrawide before. With the 4K version I can see another issue being the sheer number of pixels you have to push, even a 4090 with DLSS isn't going to get you anywhere close to the 240Hz maximum refresh rate for modern games. At least with the 1440p version there are fewer pixels than a normal 4K display so you can make use of the high refresh rate.

Great earbuds. Tried a lot of noise canceling earbuds as I am blind and autistic and these work the best for me out of most of the ones I’ve tried. The AirPods Pro did not cancel out enough noise if I wore a larger size earpiece. Or a smaller size earpiece. They only work if I use medium. Problem where I could not take them the earpieces out of the bud to clean them without them breaking. So I haven’t been able to use the AirPods because the only earpieces I was able to use for them were the wrong size. Also, the audio started sounding funky after a while. As in within the last few weeks. They were not sounding right at all the last time I use them. It was kind of in between clear and muffled kinda like how a tape, cassette tape, goes back-and-forth when it’s dirty or something. Sony Link buds were what helped me get through things like my dentist appointment and stuff like that so Honestly great earbuds. I use them when wearing my glasses because my headphones which are WH 1000 XM fives do not fit over them very well. When I put them on my glasses, they don’t cancel out no as well as when I’m not wearing my glasses, so that means they don’t fit my glasses. They don’t sit fully on my ear when I have my glasses on. The link buds work really well with my glasses and I’m really happy with that. Honestly had no real issues with the link buds. Very good your bloods accepting got lower volume When you were on normal volume with your phone or whatever. But overall solid and highly recommended. Also battery life sucks but like I said for the price, I can’t complain. Got them for almost $200 at Best Buy. The 1000 XM five headphones were moreexpensive at about $300. Something like that.

Bought this monitor three weeks ago and I use it 80% - 90% of the time for work where it is very helpful to be able to reference multiple documents at once. Text appears super sharp. The games I do play are mainly single player story driven games (most of the time with black bars on the side of the screen). If I want to play call of duty or Fortnite I will usually just use the Xbox. So for me, so far, it has been a great experience. I am in the process of buying a new desk and I do agree that figuring out the best desk layout for aesthetic and practical purposses is a big challenge. Especially if you have bookshelf speakers.

I bought this monitor 2 days ago. I have some weird grainy screen.. like screen feel dirty. Its very faint. But, when I turn HDR on, I see diagonal lines which are easy to see if you sitting somewhat close, but can also notice it a hand away. Not sure if that is normal. Can you please turn HDR on and tell me if you see the same?

I’m based in the UK and have seriously considered buying this monitor (more than once, I still might get it!). On the Samsung UK website, it periodically keeps have discounts and offers provided (other Samsung monitors & products too). You might not have to wait to Black Friday to get a good deal. Additionally, if this would be your first purchase from Samsungs website, there is a code to get a 5% discount on your first order from their website. They also have other sales and discount offers, & some I’ve been able to stack. I also got an email from them a couple of days ago offering me a 15% discount as it’s my birthday in 6 days……and I can stack that with the 5% discount mentioned above. I’m just holding off to see if they put the monitor on sale again in the next 6 days, it could tip me over the edge on pressing the buy button. In the UK the normal price is £2200, but over the past few months they have had offers which I’ve been able to combine on their website and get the price down to around the £1550 mark. You just have to be patient and keep checking / looking at their site.

I would have loved to pick this monitor resolution but it means I should invest in a 4090 GPU (currently an happy owner of a 7800XT). SO I did pick a Philips Envia 8900 Oled 49', because Samsung reputation on G9 is pretty average on warranty and noise.
