Hey, thanks! I'm the guy with the EXACT car in Chicago bought 3 years old late 2020. Last year I bought some Nokian winter tires and I'm paying an arm and a leg to get them switched out and stored (don't have a garage like you!) each season (worth it). I might try hunting down some rims. Still dig the car, it's wonderful!

Thanks for watching and subscribe! The car is doing great, only 46,000 miles on it now… Only thing broken on it id one headlight, the DRL light strip is weak, other than that everything is good on it…. I plan on keeping it another 2-3 years

I have had my 1997 Valkyrie 27 years and have never had to adjust or take apart my carbs. I ride. Keep gas flowing through them and you'll never have a problem. Also use the best gas, yes premium but from a name brand that is "Top Tier". (it will say on the pump)

10-bolt rear-end in a 396 SS? Yeah right. Even some 327's came with 12-bolts. Better install a bearing supportive diff cover if you are putting out any hp.

I know this video's 3 years old, but maybe you're planning to hang onto the last of the best gen like me. If you ever decide to get rid of your stock mufflers, I'd love to buy them.

@Drive315 I see you sold both bikes, what did you replace them with? I have the VTX 1800 2002 only 6k miles on it, but I am leaning towards to GW bagger version. One reason why is the reverse feature. You're right the VTX is a heavy ride, and being an Airborne vet father time has caught up with my knees so I am really eyeing the Gold Wing. Plus I am very interested in the DTC feature as well.

You have to be careful on even a stock Valkyrie. It is a bad ass machine. I bought mine in 1997 and it took me 500 miles to get used to it's massive power and even when you look down at the tank, you think, WTF did I just buy. Here I am 27 years later with the same bike and can't find a fault.

Always wanted a Valkyrie. So, I bought a frame, a salvage engine, and the rest of the bike in pieces. Took 9 months to build it. Based on the '99, it was sure some jigsaw puzzle! I am the original owner (of this collection of assembled parts) and have had it for about 10 years. I am the only person to have ridden it as well. On my test ride after completing the build, I rode it from S. Mississippi to the 15th annual meeting of the VRCC in Spearfish, SD, in 2015. Then, on to the Canadian border at Antlers, ND. Got a tank of bad gas somewhere, and the rear valve stem gave out. Those were the only issues. I still have it, and yes, I still ride it. Currently it is fitted with a Velorex sidecar for a grocery-getter. Sure gets the looks! Not much to look at rattlecan paint job, but hey, who needs a fancy paint job anyway? I love it as it is. So, is it a Valkyrie, or a replica? I don't care. Only cost me time and a few thousand, but, the experiences have been priceless!

By the way, I did ride it back home. (Sorry, left that out.)

'01 Interstate. LOVE IT! Valkyries love to fly! My old V65 was quicker but not by a whole lot, my '97 Shadow ACE 1100 has great pull but is no match Torq wise but retains the factory pipes and that sweet V twin sound and it's so fun to ride, so I've kept it for those times you just need to hear it. Can't beat a Honda. Also owned: CT70, ST90, CB350. Oh and a '71 Cuda! Have a nice day!

Nice. I put 60k miles on my 1979 Valk Tourer - just like yours. My Uncle also had one and when we'd ride together side by side the sound of 12 cylinders firing together was amazing. When I got mine very few people had ever seen such a thing. That engine with 6 carbs and 6 separate exhaust pipes was like six 250's. Like three 500 BMWs. Like two 750 inline 3 cylinder engines. Oh the sound and the feeling. Pure magic. The twin just didn't do it for me. The Even Fire twin was smooth and made good power and fuel economy but it sounded like a really big single cylinder. Good for some, not for me. Thanks for publishing this piece. Many good memories. Be careful out there.

Don’t over tighten the hold down. Tighten until it dosent slide in the tray and your good. Same with the battery terminals. If you over tighten them the clamp will stretch and the connection will become loose.

@Drive31526 күн бұрын
The bike is pretty heavy in terms of pushing or pulling it up a little hill, but its not bad at all with “tipping over” because the weight of the engine is very low compared to a regular vtwin… it feels much lighter and than it is with leaning. Thanks for watching and subscribe!

Good stuff, new to the channel. Just subscribed. Picking up an '05 vtx 1300 this weekend, 1st motorcycle I'm a bit nervous bigger guy ideally I wanted to start off with like 750 or 900cc even sat on a few harley sportsters the iron and 1200 classic but the vtx felt the most comfortable and for a steal. Would you say it's a good 1st bike? Or is it too much bike to start off with? Thanks and keep Rocking*

Thanks for watching! I wouldn’t say its necessarily too much bike… as long as you have good balance on 2 wheels you should be fine.

In Australia where i live we can't take motorcycle out of our yard to practice in car park unless we have a Unrestricted full Licence Person with us to Supervise us ! We can only go do Learners Course to get our Learner Licence ^ even then we can't ride on public roads unless we have person with unrestricted licence with us on his bike supervising ! We cant take our bike to car part to practice on our own by way of riding on public road ! unless we can load bike into / onto a trailer then drive car with trailer & bike to car park & practice! I am 5'5" 110lbs and I had my first ride on one of these. Normally I run into the problem of not being able to touch the floor or not being able to control bigger bikes due to my size, but I picked up on the VTX 1800 pretty quickly. Easier to control than she looks. I am now the proud owner of said VTX 1800r :)
