Very nice Spenc. Neat and different kit and zoom on makes really nice stuff.

Great build man. The resin kits look challenging to build, so much time investment into part prep and fit I'm sure. This is going to be a cool way to display some of your other cars too. Love the sticker with your channel logo!
@ScaleAutoGarage3 күн бұрын
Thanks mate! Yes the resin does pose some challenges that you don't necessarly get with styrene but I believe most of the fundamentals are still the same. Clip off mold gates, sand down the parts, wash everything and then prime before paint. Still feels like a little more work tho! haha. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. It is appreciated.

I'm about to embark on this AMT Viper kit as my first ever model car build. Seeing some of the discussions and videos about it actually has me nervous! Haha. I'm an experienced Gundam/Gunpla builder, but car kits seem to be a whole different beast.
@ScaleAutoGarage3 күн бұрын
Personally I found this kit to be a lot of fun. It does have some challenges but if you are taking your time and testing tollerances then you should be all good. It is very different from building Gundam, that is for certain. Good Luck! I hope you enjoy the kit as well.

Did you strip the chrome off the chrome parts tree before starting? It looks like you painted everything that had been chromed. A difficult kit indeed. The IMC kits of the early Ford GT are also difficult, but this one is even more so. Nice work. Too bad they did not model it with the "pickle fork" front below the headlights.
@ScaleAutoGarage4 күн бұрын
Hey, thanks for watching. I did strip a lot of the chrome pieces and painted using a silver instead. I found the chrome to be a little much for the suspension parts. I find this kit to be really fascinating. I am pretty sure it was designed very early in the development process of the actual prototype and it seems the kit is a slight combination of the different breadvan versions they made. It is a pretty difficult kit for sure and I found that you really can’t be generous with tolerances. The gaps are just from slight misplacement of parts in the front end that I didn’t realize until the car was almost assembled. I would love to see Meng take on this or even the Mark 4 version of the GT40 but I think that is just a dream I will continue to have.

Ottimo capolavoro Maestro!

I can’t express how smart that was to paint the inside of the body black before body paint and then tape it off. I’m an idiot and do it afterwards risking overspray on the nice paint. I’ll try it your way next build. Thanks Spencer! Great build 👍
@ScaleAutoGarage23 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching James. Painting the inside did feel like the right thing to do this time around and it turned out pretty good. I would say it is likely I will continue to try on future builds as well.

Gorgeous build, any pitfalls to be weary of on this kit?
@ScaleAutoGarage22 күн бұрын
@ actually this went together way better than I expected, especially after building the other two AMT kits in the exotics 3 pack this came in. The only thing I was disappointed with was the glass doesn’t quite fit right. That is why I had to fill the gaps with white glue after they were installed. Other than that, I really really liked this kit.

Hi, impressive build. What is the time between coats of paint? I suffer from rush syndrome, so would be nice to put some timer. Also, what paint do you use? Best regards from Portugal
@ScaleAutoGarage26 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching! I use Tamiya Acrylics for my painting and then use a Mr. Hobby clear coat. Much of the time I will get a car body painted within a day, from first primer coat to final clear coat. I give it at least 15 min between coats but as I am using acrylics, they do tend to try quickly. Enamles or other sprays I believe take a little longer to dry. I also use Tamiya fine primers so there is no need to sand that down as it drys quite smooth already.

@ScaleAutoGarageАй бұрын
Yes this kit is a little disapointing in the chassis department. If you can get your hands on the Tamiya version, I believe it is a lot more parts and details but it does not have the poseable rear steering.
@LEJIT_FINGERBOARDINGАй бұрын
is this a good starter kit?
@ScaleAutoGarageАй бұрын
This is a very good starter kit. It goes together very well, not too complicated, and ends up being a very nice model when finished. Painting the clear roof parts can be a PITA but you don't need to use the hard top or the closed soft top if you don't want to.

@ScaleAutoGarageАй бұрын
The decals were actually super impressive. Very strong and easier to manipulate than any other decals I have used previous. Once warm with the hair dryer they easily conformed to surfaces and stretched quite a bit before tearing. (yes, I did tear in a few places but I was able to clean it up for the most part! haha) Thanks for watching.

But excellent job one for the books show quality in the CUSTOMIZING builds id love to see u get awarded for this build turned out top class well done👍👍👏👏👏🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟, Keith

Hey Keith, thanks for expressing yourself here. This was my first full body conversion and it was indeed a challenge. Not one I want to replicate soon but for sure I will want to again. I am glad I went through the process because it taught me a lot about this kind of build and of course it openes a lot more doors to what you can build and create! I hope to see one of your documented builds as well someday as I will know what you put into it to get your creation. Thank you so much for your kind words and I appreciate you watching.
