Great question. This was a while ago, but since it is a longer video, we would have to guess a few hours! 🤔

ok, this may seem like a dumb question to those of you with lots of experience, but this guy has very little experience, but big aspirations. so i am trying to wrap the buttstock of my rossi r92 to make it unique, i've pretty much narrowed the knot to a needle hitch since i cant find anything else that might fit the shape, so can you help me figure out how much cord i'll need if it's 9 inches long, tapers from 2.5 to 4 inches and about an 1.5 inches thick thank you in advance for any help you can give

Hi! We don't know the answer off the top of our heads, but here's a video for comparison: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4DUm42irsSij6c.

If my paracord bracelet should be 9inches with the clasp then I should measure 9 feet of cord, do I understand correctly?
@ParacordPlanet2 сағат бұрын
Hi! We just made a new video on this topic: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipmqe4angd2saMU. In writing though, if you have an 8" wrist diameter, you'll want your bracelet to measure 9" from the teeth on the male end of the buckle to the cow hitch on the female end of the buckle. We explain why in that video, but basically, half of the buckle doesn't count because it gets covered up. Let us know if that helps!

How to measure paracord weast belt
@ParacordPlanetСағат бұрын
Hello! The process would be pretty similar. First, measure the distance around your waist, add one inch for fit, then add however many inches you want to overlap for the adjustable part of the belt. We also have a couple belt tutorials with specific instructions: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iIW5Xn-lmqalbrc AND kzbin.info/www/bejne/iIW5Xn-lmqalbrc. Hope that helps. Good luck on your next project!

Just for reference, I made a 25 inch paracord sling with this design and it took me 4 1/2 hours to complete. Figured this information might be helpful for anyone who is interested in making it for themselves or a friend for this holiday season

I want to ask, what is the function of this paracod bracelet? Is it just a decoration?
@ParacordPlanet2 сағат бұрын
You can always wear a Paracord bracelet as part of an outfit, but it is also a convenient way to carry cord so you have it when you need it. Here are just a few of its practical, outdoor uses: www.paracordplanet.com/blog/6-uses-for-paracord-in-the-wilderness/.

How do you know how much cord do you need?
@ParacordPlanet2 сағат бұрын
We usually say 1 foot of cord equals 1 inch of finished weave! For example, my wrist is about 6.5" in diameter, so I'd add an inch to get the best fit. Then for a 7.5" bracelet, I'd grab 7.5' or 8' of cord. The thicker the weave, the more cord you'll need. However, most tutorials will tell you how much extra you'll need at the beginning of the video. Let us know if that helps! 👍

Love the 1/4 inch Para-Max (1200 lb, 6mm)paracord i bought from you, using them for kayak anchors. They're wonderful for hand-lining the anchors, and appreciate the ability to match the cord to tthe color of the kayaks. Wondering what size to get for wrapping a knife handle now..
@ParacordPlanet2 сағат бұрын
That's awesome! We usually use 550 Paracord for knife handle wraps. It doesn't get too bulky and makes them easier to hold. You can also go with 650 Coreless Paracord for a flatter weave. Good luck on your next project! 👍

The bowiline is much easier and quicker to tie (not using your kackhanded method), takes less line and is relatively secure if you cinch it down correctly, and is also easy to untie, which is probably the reasons why it ismore commonly used. Yes the DD is more secure, can be used mid line and may be more appropriate in some situations.

@hop3339 күн бұрын
Yes the DD is a more reliable loop than a normal bowline, and if you want to make the bowline more secure (double, water, Yosemite etc) it gets both more complex to tie and more difficult to verify. Don't forget also how good the figure-of-8 (and figure-of-9) is for an end loop as long as you don't want to untie it; probably the strongest of all of them.

Hello, I wonder if the smoke coming out of the cord when melting it is harmful or not ?
@ParacordPlanet3 сағат бұрын
Hi! Great question. Yes, inhaling fumes from melted nylon and polyester can be harmful. The longer and more frequent the exposures, the higher the risk. That's why we always say to only melt your cord for 3 to 6 seconds. The goal is to melt the cord without making it smoke. You should also work in a well-ventilated area and can even wear a mask if you want to be extra cautious!

Most military shoulder cords like this have a loop at the top to attach to the button on the shoulder loop. It should be fairly easy to incorporate it into the design.
