The description of the barbarian invasion harks back to the romans or our own view that they were civilised and the rest barbarians. The romans conquered so that’s not really civilised. They also put lots to death for entertainment. Sounds barbaric to me.

Im from america and the only exposure i have to other comics are Dylan dog, judge dredd and Valerian ans the city of a thousand planets. All of whig i think are good and wish i knew where to go to point me in the right direction for similar sci fi/fantasy/horror comics

That Terror 3000 remembers me, form and content, the "línea chunga" spanish comics, look for Gallardo and Mediavilla. Perhaps both share a similar influence from the countercultural underground comics of the 60s, with more punk, and more meta.

I need more Torpedo! Only one album available in Finnish and English version from Ablaze has(I belive) only new stories where the main character is old. I’m very tempted to get that German edition. I never got into Modesty Blaise as a kid but should take a closer look now as a gray human relic. I’ve found myself liking stuff I didn’t like before now that I’m older. Nemesis is also in my shopping list. Looks suitably over the top

I started reading comics in the 70's because of Richard Corben. Who i consider one of the grandmasters of art and illustration. Already a Jack Kirby aficionado when I found his work in ' Fantagor ' I hunted down everything that he produced.😂❤👍👌

Though one may think Walter Neugebauer was a German artist, he was actually Croatian, born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, only later that he moved to Germany to work there....Winetou books were big in Croatia (my collection got completely ruined by flood water), films were shot here as well...

Good video! I don’t let foreign languages get in the way of a good comic! Google Translate is not perfect, but it usually works well enough. I read Dedales as it came out with Google Translate and loved it! I echo your sentiments though - please give us English translations and don’t shrink the size of the book!

Man, I really need to buy a complete Lucky Luke collection one of these days. I grew up on the cartoon and I really should read the comics one of these days. Also, that Precious Metal looks interesting, but the art for Little Bird that I saw put me off of it. Might warrant a reevaluation. Also, also, Emmanuel Leparge has seen limited English distribution with Springtime in Chernobyl, translation of Un printempsa a Tchernobyl. But I don't think it was successful enough to warrant further translations of his work. I might have to brush off my German though, his work looks interesting.

"Torpedo" looks like a fun read, and the French omnibus is not very expensive (35€ for 640 pages). Thank you very much for the recommendation. By the way the original title of Der Vagabund der Unendlichkeit is "Le Vagabond des Limbes" (The Vagabond Of Limbo). Published for the first time in the French magazine "Circus", in 1975.

An eclectic part 2 for sure. I too wish some of those be made available in English but I don’t mind French (which I know enough to get me through…) but not German, I’m afraid. I can’t help to feel that most of these Best Offs lack a lot in what concerns to authors and works from other latitudes, most of them not even represent in the international market. So I congratulate you for the extra “effort”. Looking forward for the remaining parts. Cheer and a 2025 full of good comics surprises 👍🏻

Modesty Blaise is timeless. Agree, she has much more personality than Bond. Her relationship with Willie Garvin is fascinating and possibly unique in literature. I recommend the novels, also written by O'Donnell. He wrote a final short story after he did the strip. It's one of the most moving stories I've ever read. The name of the collection is The Cobra Trap. Highly recommend it and the novels. Happy New Year:)

The covers for the minutemen’s Buzz or Howl… and The Politics of Time that can be seen in your video (0:25) are not by Pettibon! The first is by Joe Baiza (guitarist for Saccharine Trust, Universal Congress Of and many other bands), the latter by the late D. Boon, guitarist for the minutemen. Both have a smaller Pettibon on the back cover, though, so they should have been hung on the other side. Sorry, I could not refrain from sharing this piece of information 😆 Thanks for the video
