@@yunghanhuang8188 how do you mean? What sort of an adaptor are you after? I would advise (if you want to use AFX plugs) just cut the plug off the AFX controller, and hook the wires up. However, if this is what you want to do, you will never be able to use the braking function. The AFX plugs will only ever allow you to use 2 wires.

Hey MVR been a while, been taking care of elderly parents for the last year constantly, so not much time still to do much. But I have bought a few cars, the dreaded Super III and 4 gear, I said I was not going to buy again....Thanks to your interest in them I gave them another shot. I found that the 2022/2023 4 gears (large funny cars for drag racing) are much better, and the S III 2023 are MUCH better than the older ones, and the bodies are smaller which I like much better, but the liveries are so, so on the stock cars. The newer S III bodies work around the track much better than the older larger bodies, they are top heavy and de-slot way too easily. I have a bit of a cheat though. I have a set of Rooster Racings IROC Super 7 chassis, and I modified S III clips to fit the S III to the S 7 chassis, and it works great at slower speeds. The older S III Nascar bodies liveries are the best I have seen out of the other choices, and they are pretty nice going around the track at slower speeds as well. Anyway, interesting to see you back at the track building. I'm not familiar with that paint, but I would use a good alkyd primer because as you know that "paper board" is going to raise the "grain" something fierce if water based is used. Ask me how I know.....:) I hope it is going well, the track looks great.

@@JDL_2020 thanks for the feedback on the Auto World chassis's. I need to buy more 4 Gears I think? As for the paint, White Knight is an Australian paint company. Basically it's fast dry alkyd paving paint, and even though it's considered a gloss paint, the fast dry additive cuts the gloss to about 80-90% so better for grip, and hard wearing. I actually didn't use a primer at all this time, I thinned the paint down with a bit of turpentine so it could penetrate into the surface better. I got more work done on the track last night (second coat is now on). I filled with caulking compound this morning, and I'll third coat tonight. I'll do a new video end of week with my progress, I've been taking plenty of pics along the way.

@@murdervalleyraceway Many of the paints are primers now anyway. I look forward to the update, it looks like it's going to be great. As always with Auto World, buyer beware. But my last 2 2022 series 4 gear are both faster than my other older 4 gears. I received the Ron Capps Iwheels white NAPA as a gift and it's so so out of the box, but looks great. And the newer Super III really surprised me in size and running/ build quality compared to my last experience and others reporting as well. I have a picture of the bodies on the Super 7 I will try to post. The last time I posted a link I was put in timeout for 24 hours with no explanation. But I think you are not a magnet fan and the S 7 is high magnet down force but handle like a dream and FAST, too fast actually.

Right , so here I go. I want to purchase some of your tires . I have been a racer for years. We race super 2s which have foam tires ( came with the foam tires OEM ), that is just one of our classes . I'd like to try a tjet & a tuff one style ( foam ) also . that is 3 of our classes but , we use silicone over sponge tires in other classes. It can't be that crazy ( $ ) to send 6 , 8 sponge tires in a padded envelope. I was the same guy that ( you showed the double cutter) (made the video for ) ( well me & others ), but I still want your tires to try in certain classes ( cause you can not use the sil-sponge tires in that class ) , weight ? vs. grip ? ? ? You see I have others making 3d printed wheels ( light ) , ? with light foam tires ? Maybe bets grip , ? The last race I ran 330s & 16 ohm vs several 350 sil-sponge & 5.5 ohm os3 (what?) ?? The head guy asked bout the clearance . I said I could drop more . Just always trying something. And I wanted your email cause : I WANT to PURCHASE TIRES from YOU Mr murder Valley. 6 - 8 pairs maybe more . I know you said already , you wanted to sell, you did not want to sell. Want to try to race your tires in at least 3 different classes in our " that class" (racing since '80s) (some of us)(fisherowski's) (zerns)(Penn Valley) , we been racing a long time... So...thanks... @@kenneely7899 I've installed the rail pretty high. My plan is to paint the surface, then shave the rail heights down to what they need to be. I'm aiming for 0.3mm max rail height. I'd prefer 0.2mm, but I want to allow for wear. Going by my last track, I used to drive it all the time, and with the constant driving and cleaning the rails, the rail heights dropped a bit over the years. Because of the method I've used to install the rails (gluing not lock wire), changing rails is going to be a bit of a nightmare. But a smooth clean track finish that's really easy to clean, with nowhere other than the slot for guide pins to catch is what I am chasing. So the 2.5mm will be smaller.

As for selling, I generally make them for racing. There was 2 racing groups I was supplying bodies for, but I think the second group now has their supply sorted with 3D printed bodies. There's quite a bit of time on them, and I only seem to get 10-20 of any of the bodies completed. I was originally intending to sell them thinking slot HO people in Australia might have appreciated not having to pay US postage for bodies, but there has been low interest, a bit like racing in general (which is a bit sad).

@@Anthony-ib8hb thanks for coming back, I really appreciate it. You're right on just keeping at it. We had 15 turn up for a race meet the week before Covid hit. It was an awesome day. It just seems like so long ago. Our costs aren't all that high to get started. It's been one of the main factors we shaped our racing around. We race standard chassis's with hand out foam tyres, and hand out resin bodies. The only thing that actually costs $$$ is our controllers. But as guys come in to and leave the hobby (as people do), I try to buy their stuff so there's cheaper used stuff available if needed. I've been part of plenty of hobbies, my last was 1:10 RC drift. By comparison, HO slots is just loose change. One of our car classes is a $26.50 buy in for new. And these things last forever. Our racing is so cheap, if we raced in a shop, I don't know how a shop could make any money out of it, thus why we race at home.

@@extreme-3d-customs thanks for the reply. I haven't gone down that path of printing bodies yet. One of the things I really like about the resin casting process is how clean the results are. So if the master has a mirror finish, so is the result. It's worth putting the extra time in getting the master right, so there's less work prepping the resin version. Resin casting isn't a perfect process by any means, but it can really produce a quality result. I almost bought a newer 3D printer recently, I have an old filament type. What I found first time around was it's a stand alone hobby all in itself. I don't have a lot of time for body creation. Very good video sir. This is just my opinion after 60 years of messing with all types and scales of slot cars, so take it for what it's worth. Chassis build quality is generally poor and quality control is weak at best. Compare one to the AFX version. If you can get them cheap enough, they provide some nice bodies and some good parts. Having said that, I will also say that with some tuning and dialing, they can be made to work pretty well. I am not a "slot car snob" I love all slot cars and AW is very much appreciated for what they do in the hobby. Better QC would help but that is true with nearly everything today. @@oldhick9047thank you for your reply. Would it be fair to say that in 2024, the one thing the HO slot car hobby is short of is bodies? There's plenty of chassis producers at the moment, and if you're after anything other than Lexan style bodies, there's a definite shortage. I'm guessing this is due to copyright, and having to pay for rights to use body shapes. The one thing Auto World does well is bodies, and unpainted versions as well. I also love the way Auto World doesn't just focus on American Muscle cars.

@@murdervalleyraceway As a consumer, I agree with you as to a shortage of certain types of bodies in HO. From a manufacture's point of view, new molds are extremely expensive and when you are selling everything you make already, it's really tempting for them not to come out with new stuff. Add to that, the cost of licensing a product, it's not to hard to see why new models are limited. AW seems to understand that new models or versions of old models are needed to keep the industry alive. As for the others, RaceMaster AFX comes to mind, as nice as their cars are, we have enough Mustangs, Camaros and Corvettes though more Ford GT's are always welcome. 😁 At this point, I see 3D printing as the best alternative, some resin bodies are pretty good as well. It kind of come down to this. If you can't find what you want commercially, you have to build it, cast it, print it, or.....look at alternate sources. Many Hotwheels bodies are plastic, as are Matchbox cars. I made a slot car from a Ford dealer promo key fob. ( Ford F-250 pickup). It cost me a buck at a flea market. So, after all that pontification, yes there is a lack of body selection, but for the individual hobbyist who can paint a little, or is willing to learn to paint a little, body options do exist.. In my view, it is more fun winning with a car you have some personal investment in. Folks like you help keep a hobby alive and thriving that has had it's obituary written many times over the years. "Keep on keepin' on" as my generation used to say.
